πŸͺ‘ Our first monthly community spotlight goes to the brilliant Makers and Shakers...

Wimborne's Makers and Shakers group aims to support environmental campaigns through craft-based activism. In their own words, they are looking to "craft a more sustainable world."

Wimborne visitors may have seen the group's work out and about. Their latest campaign, which advocates against the increasing use of glyphosate in UK farming, can be spotted tied to railings and lamp posts in town. They encourage individuals to think about their stances towards the issues, ultimately hoping to inspire change.

Not only this, Makers and Shakers has become a sanctuary for those with eco-anxiety; by channelling their concerns for the environment into craft activism ('craftivism'), the group is doing their bit to help its community.

Most recently, the group attended Defashion Dorset , displaying their campaigns for attendees to be inspired by.

Their craftivism is deeply inspiring and paves the way for a new kind of campaigning.
