It's National Volunteers' Week!

We want to take the opportunity to thank all of our responders at Nayland Community First Responders for the time they give up to help our local communities.

As well as responding to life threatening 999 calls they;

● Maintain their clinical competence through training

● Crew the East of England Ambulance Service Charity CFR car

● Attend engagement events like village fetes

● Provide basic life support training to residents

● Look after public access defibrillators

● Maintain the social media page

● Apply for funding through grants

● Represent the group at local council meetings

● Act as casualties for simulated mass casualty training exercises

Thank you to all the CFRs up and down the country!

On Saturday Adam and Corinne were guests of the Springwood Sun Club, West Bergholt where they were officially presented with a very generous donation of £412.88 raised by the community-based group throughout 2025.

The Springwood Sun Club chose our group as their charity of the year for 2025 after we attended the club and taught them basic life support as part of the EEAST Heart scheme.

During the day, a talk was given on what a Community First Responder is, they type of calls they are likely to attend, and how donations are spent on equipment. A CPR demonstration was given and there was even time for some tea and cake.

Team Leader for the Nayland Community First Responders said, “As a charity, we are entirely reliant on donations like this to keep or group running. By raising this money for us the Springwood Sun Club have helped save lives in their community. We are very grateful to every member of this caring local organisation.
