An update from the core group of Trike Nairn volunteers:
“The first two years of Trike Nairn have been a wonderful experience. We have had such a good time riding with residents of Nairn's care homes and with Alzheimer Scotland. The project grew rapidly, from 209 passenger-rides in 2023 to 344 in 2024, all with the project run entirely by volunteers.
However, despite the rapid growth of the project, we always wanted to do more. In particular, we wanted to include more passengers who don't live in a care home. So, in early 2024, we obtained funding for Green Hive to manage this expansion. At the end of last year, we handed the management of all of our rides to Green Hive.
We look forward to this new phase of the project, with Green Hive at the helm.”
