🌹Pretty Jessica looking rather beautiful this evening, but what's that spec on her petal? - a pregnant aphid having babies! 🙈
🌿 Did You Know? Green rose aphids (Macrosiphum rosae) give birth to live young in summer—no eggs required! These sap-sucking insects gather in family clusters on fresh growth, quietly multiplying beneath lush Scottish petals.

🪰 But nature has its own pest control: here at Scotland’s Secret Rose Garden, we welcome wild allies like Blue T**s, Lacewing wasps, and ladybirds to keep aphid numbers in check. No chemicals—just biodiversity at work.

💜 Lavender Ice (Tan04249) Bred by Hans Jürgen Evers, 🇩🇪 Germany, 2004 If you love cool-toned roses with a delicate charm, this is a must-have. Lavender Ice is a compact Floribunda rose with large, very full blooms in a unique silvery-lavender hue.

And once again, our Scottish climate proves ideal — the cooler temperatures and softer light naturally reduce pink pigmentation, allowing this rose to express a bluer, more ethereal tone that aligns beautifully with our northern aesthetic.

🌹 Red Parfum de Provence (Meiafone) Bred by Meilland, 🇫🇷 France, 2012 If you love red Roses then this is a must have. With its velvety crimson blooms and powerful perfume, this Hybrid Tea rose is a showstopper in any garden. The flowers are exceptionally large, double, and open from elegant spiral buds — perfect for cutting or simply admiring in the border.

Today we have removed some Perennials many of which have passed their first flush of blooms and now need to be devided.
This allows us to carefully layout our planting scheme for some new intensely fragrant Roses.
