Could you help shape the future of Wise Up CIC?

We’re looking for honest, experienced and committed people to join our Board for a 12-month voluntary post.

We’re particularly looking for experience in:
⭐ Fundraising & income generation
⭐ Decision-making & strategic thinking
⭐ Finance, business or governance
⭐ Supporting organisations to grow

As a Director, you’ll help make important decisions, support fundraising and contribute ideas for our future.

You’ll also become an official Company Director, registered with Companies House.

We want people who will get involved, ask questions, share ideas and genuinely care about our community.

We are so excited to reveal something that our volunteers have secretly been working on...

📸 The Friends are hosting a photography competition this Autumn!

We want to celebrate Heysham for Lancashire Day this November, and what better way than to invite local photographers, whether hobbyist or professional, to submit your photos showcasing our wonderful village?

Competition overview:

· Photographs can be entered from 1st September 2026 – 1st November 2026

· There are 2 categories – Junior (15 and under) and Adult (16 and over)

· Entries from both categories will be selected and exhibited in Heysham Library for all library visitors to enjoy

· Photographs will be judged anonymously by representatives from The Friends of Heysham Library and Morecambe Camera Club along with a special guest judge

· A special open exhibition evening will be held Thursday 26th November from 6:30pm to celebrate the exhibition and in recognition of Lancashire Day, which occurs annually every November

· The winner from each category will be announced and awarded during the evening. We will be pleased to award the winner from the Adult category with 1 year’s free membership of Morecambe Camera Club and a library goodie bag, and the winner from the Junior category with a junior library goodie bag

· All exhibitors will receive a professionally printed copy of their photograph following the exhibition

Are you a dynamic, forward-thinking and experienced learning disabilities professional or leader seeking a new challenge? Our Learning Disability All-Age Service is recruiting a Locality Team Manager in the Fylde and Wyre locality.

As part of the leadership team, you will manage an all-age, multi-disciplinary community learning disability and autism service. You will oversee the day-to-day operational management and leadership of staff to ensure delivery of a high-quality, multi-disciplinary health service for the local community.

Clinical responsibilities include promoting access to mainstream health care, reducing health inequalities and premature mortality, delivering specialist interventions, maintaining a caseload of complex clients as directed, and collaborating with other service leads.

We seek a confident, organised and experienced individual with a strong background in community teams, a thorough understanding of the health needs of people with learning disabilities, and up-to-date knowledge of issues affecting learning disability services.

Today we’re celebrating the incredible young people who make Wise Up CIC such a special place to be.

Every rehearsal, every challenge overcome, every friendship made, every performance, every smile, and every tiny step forward matters.

We are so proud of every young person who has had the courage to try something new, find their voice, support one another, and keep growing. Your experiences, resilience, creativity and kindness inspire us every day.

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers, leaders and team who give their time, energy and hearts to make these opportunities possible. Your encouragement and belief in our young people creates lasting change.
