for families, children, and individuals with Special Educational Needs, Disabilities or additional needs in the Morecambe and Lancaster catchment area. The activities we offer provide enrichment, stimulation and fun in accessible and enjoyable ways to children, adults, their families, and carers of all ages and abilities. Connect Play Learn offer children and adults the opportunity to improve their health and well-being through creative play, music, dance, art and exploratory learning by using intensive interaction and therapeutic techniques to develop connection. By working alongside parents and carers, we focus on fun and engagement, developing skills to take away and enjoy at home. We offer support and advice to parents and carers based on our experience as parents, teachers, mentors and carers of disabled and neurodiverse children and adults. Connect Play Learn caters for babies, children and adults with a wide range of disabilities and complex medical needs including physical disabilities, sensory needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties, learning disabilities, and neurodivergence. Our focus is on the ability, not the disability, and on participation on your own terms, according to need. We promote inclusivity and equality and bridge the gap between poverty, social exclusion, and inequality by providing services to people who need them most at an affordable cost. Connect Play Learn is a not-for-profit company, any profits we make are ploughed back into the company to increase our services, resources and training to deliver high-quality sessions within the area.

Easter holiday updates

Hello everyone!

We won’t be running sessions this Easter. We’ve typically found lots of families take the opportunity to visit family at this time and low numbers made it difficult to run. Kirsten is taking the opportunity to do some learning in the Sahara (so expect a desert day at some point…..)

We have got our Whitsun sessions planned :

Monday 25 th May “ Eric Morecambe Centenary Special” - expect sand, seagulls, jokes, silly glasses, and lots of our usual sensory and exploratory fun

Wednesday 28 th Hedgehogs! One our our participants requested this one, we’ll be sewing hedgehogs, , crafting hedgehogs, building hedgehog homes, and probably….eating a hedgehog. Lots more to do of course

Thursday 28 th May Crazy Vehicles. This one is a CPL version of scrapyard challenge as we create our own cardboard box vehicles and take them on a journey to the car wash….plus lots of sensory fun.

These sessions will be at More Music and aren’t available to book yet but please put them in your diaries to book right after Easter. We sold out in half term!

We’re making plans to run sessions in Lancaster as well as Morecambe over the summer, hoping to reach out to new friends.

Currently taking ideas from our young people for summer sessions , parents please comment below!

Neurodivergent or not - this is the experience of so many SEN mums and dads,

You’re doing the job of several people, with no time off, no pay, no colleagues, no support and often a lot of criticism or indifference from professionals in your child’s life.

We get it, we’ve lived it. Please remind yourselves every day, you’re doing an almost impossible task, and winning at it. The amazing moments that happen at these sessions happen because of you.

Let's make things move! We made hot air balloons with Becca, funny football games with Gill, constructed enormous marble runs, parachute games, table top games and made magic potions too. Fully booked and busy session with quiet corners and lots of growing relationships.

Fabulous collaboration , construction, turn taking, game sharing , friend -making, joining in and play. Thanks to everyone for joining us in a different space, a big challenge for some .

Penguin Day! Our first session at the Memorial Hall and thrilled so many of our friends came to find us!

We made penguin board games, ice themed puppets (including a snow witch and an ice alien) winter crowns and snowflakes....

We played with lots of blue and white resources, experimented on ice, had snowball fights, ate penguins , built and drew with light and much more!
