Connect Play Learn C.I.C is a Community Interest Company set up to provide therapeutic arts-based activities

for families, children, and individuals with Special Educational Needs, Disabilities or additional needs in the Morecambe and Lancaster catchment area. The activities we offer provide enrichment, stimulation and fun in accessible and enjoyable ways to children, adults, their families, and carers of all ages and abilities. Connect Play Learn offer children and adults the opportunity to improve their health and well-being through creative play, music, dance, art and exploratory learning by using intensive interaction and therapeutic techniques to develop connection. By working alongside parents and carers, we focus on fun and engagement, developing skills to take away and enjoy at home. We offer support and advice to parents and carers based on our experience as parents, teachers, mentors and carers of disabled and neurodiverse children and adults. Connect Play Learn caters for babies, children and adults with a wide range of disabilities and complex medical needs including physical disabilities, sensory needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties, learning disabilities, and neurodivergence. Our focus is on the ability, not the disability, and on participation on your own terms, according to need. We promote inclusivity and equality and bridge the gap between poverty, social exclusion, and inequality by providing services to people who need them most at an affordable cost. Connect Play Learn is a not-for-profit company, any profits we make are ploughed back into the company to increase our services, resources and training to deliver high-quality sessions within the area.

Lots of fun with old friends and new at The Gregson today.

Sending messages and people up to the mountain top in the cable cars involved lots of coordination and collaboration.

Really exciting for us to have a Lancaster venue reaching new families.

New to the Gregson Centre, Connect Play Learn Cic offer bespoke therapeutic play sessions for families that are inclusive, welcoming and accepting. We have been running sessions in Morecambe for several years.

Bank Holiday session for Families with SEND and neurodiversity. No diagnosis needed.

All ages and abilities welcome

Fully supported sensory and exploratory play with quality resources

Themed play for you to explore and play your own way.

We will use special tools to build a mountain scene, with waterfall, cave and cable cars. There will be Small world play, loose parts play, sensory and role play.

Crafts to theme for those who want it.

Please bring your own lunch and let us know your dietary requirements for snack.

Galaxy explorers created a space station today using special tools and then painted it.

We made space rockets, planets, imaginative stories .

We had ice to defrost and discover their contents

We made scented space slime to take home in special pots

We dug for rocks on Mars, built structures with light up resources, rolled planets down gutters and under glowing bridges.

Everyone busy, independent, focused and engrossed as cardboard engineers, sharing, collaborating and developing language.

Thanks everyone for coming to these sessions, building relationships and looking after each other.

Another fantastic session with our little Archaeologists! Had a dig site, fossils, crafts, sensory play and scavenger hunts!

Created the layers of earth's crust for snack and had some wonderful dinosaur stories!

Lots of archeologists attended today- we magnified fossils, created our own, painted casts of ammonites, shared our collections , hunted for fossils, took prints into our notebooks and even cracked geodes with a huge hammer to find the crystals inside.

Plus lots of sensory play, exploratory play, loose parts play, parachute games, and building the layers of the earth in cake and custard for snack!

Lovely to have some new friends join us - come with us as we explore the galaxy on Wednesday and build a gigantic mountain with cable cars on Bank Holiday Monday!

Out in the Sahara the camels met sandstorms

We were served a lot of cold mint tea

In the medina we bought and sold trinkets and jewellery

Crafted some 3D camels

Spontaneously became a marching band with North African Instruments

Painted rug toast

Made friends, self regulated, took turns, played our own way , shared and joined in!

Plus jigsaws, wooden decorations, weaving, hide and seek , and storytelling!

Down on the farm we constructed our own crazy farm vehicles and drivers, sewed cuddly hens, went to market, enacted the Enormous Turnip….and even made edible structures for snack.
