The Merton & Morden Guild is a Registered Charity who aims to offer activities to older people in the community. A friendly place where older people get a warm welcome and can:

Meet people and make friends. Keep active and mobile. Get out and about and have fun. Learn something new.

Tres Senoras - At the Guild.
A fine photograph of three very fine ladies and with Olive's 90th birthday coming recently the three amigos are now all in their 90s and all enjoying an active life in the local community sometimes with a bit of mischief thrown in.
Having kindly arranged themselves in alphabetical order, Jean, Joyce and Olive are regular attendees at Various Guild activities such as coffee mornings and our celebratory meals.

Happy Birthday Dorothy Pryor.
It's 85 not out for Dorothy on 5th October and many happy returns to her. She has been a regular on our shopping trips for many years but coincidentally came with the Guild Group to the Mayor of Merton's Silver Sunday Tea Party on 4th October. Seen here with lashings of cake, dorothy has cause to celebrate on consecution days.

The Mayor of Merton's Silver Sunday Tea Party - Sunday 4th October 2026.
Our thanks go to Councilor Shuile Syeda, The Mayor of Merton for inviting around 20 members of the Guild to her Silver Sunday Tea Party held at Tooting and Mitcham Football Club on 4th October.
Silver Sunday is nationwide day celebrating older people and encouraging social activity. We are very up for that and enjoyable afternoon was had by all particularly the Guild table (no 9) which won the quiz in a demon station of teamwork and being collective smarty pants.
Compliments go to the Mayor's volunteer team her office, her two nominated charities and , and not forgetting our very own Anjela.

Our Pub Lunches.

Wimbledon High School For Girls - Partnership Programme Thursdays at 2pm.
This Thursday 8th October Bingo Session.
We welcome back the ladies from the school and last Thursday saw high energy sweater packaging along with relaxed interanion with our older people listening to how life has changed over the generations.
This week sees in a Bingo Session with the top prize being a bag of sweets but it's the fun factor that counts!!! All older people welcome.

Tech Sessions with Kasim - Next one Wednesday 4th November at 10am.
We welcome Kasim back from his trip to Canada and his first appearance saw a waiting room with Mobile phone usage enquiries. He will join with the Wednesday coffee morning to help solve your phone/ tablets puzzles.

Exercise Class:
Friday 12.45pm-1.45pm. Holy Cross Church, Douglas Avenue, KT3 6HT. A mixed seated and standing exercise class delivered by Michela Kent at the Holy Cross Church Hall.
The aim is to maintain and improve mobility, help well being and have fun. A free class for first session, then usual fee is £4.00 per session. For more information ring us on 02086401640.

Friday 9th October. At the Guild office in Aberconway Road at 10am till 12.30pm. A lively coffee morning with a group of older people from a wide variety of backgrounds. A friendly and welcoming bunch coming to this event is often the best place to find out about the Guild. No Charges (though small donations always appreciated)

Acupuncture at the Guild - Wednesday 7th October at 1.30pm (except celebration meal days).
Our community acupuncture programme is extended and is providing popular our acupuncturists Taylor Alex and Sarah are trained using the national acupuncture detoxification association method which helps for instance with anxiety, poor sleep, fatigue and promotes wellbeing.
The initial offer of £10 per session continues and you may like to note it is a group session that is suitable for adults of all ages and as the pins are generally placed in the ear there is no need to remove clothing.
Hamish the old Codger has enjoyed these sessions and as a bit of a Guinea Pig has requested treatment for his various week ailments such as a sore shoulder, bunged up sinuses and this week's complaint leg cramp and it is effective!!!!
