Merton and Morden Guild A local charity providing activities for older people - Everything you see on here you can get involved in! The Guild is at the heart of Merton.

The Merton & Morden Guild is a Registered Charity who aims to offer activities to older people in the community. A friendly place where older people get a warm welcome and can:

Meet people and make friends. Keep active and mobile. Get out and about and have fun. Learn something new.

Morden Family Fun Day - Bottle Stall Appeal.
The Funday takes place on Sunday 5th July at 10am in Morden Park and has a wide range of attractions to be enjoyed.
The Guild plans to have a Bottle Tombola to praise funds for our social activities and will be run by Yvonne and her team. She is appealing for bottles for the stall this can include such things as shampoo, water and as well as drinks.

Kasim's Phone Tech Session - Wednesday 24th June at 10am.
Kasim is holding another phone Tech Session in the office for those who need some assistance with phone problems or information on more uses for them.
Recent requests have been how to use new Apps, the recovery of information and simple things such as volume levels and font size.

Our coffee mornings are light and enjoyable busy events. Last week we were pleased the ladies of Wimbledon High School for Girls joined us and it was all hands to the pump as we folded a batch of our leaflets.

Friends of Morden Park - Morden Park & Playing Fields Association - Brass Band Concerts.
The Friends of Morden Park have a short programme of Brass Band Concerts at the Bandstand in the park, kicked off with a fine performance by the South London Concert Band.
On Sunday 26th July the Merton Concert Band will play and on Sunday 6th September it's the turn of the Middlesex Yeomanry Concert Band.
Well worth the visit and in general the Friends of the park work to preserve protect it as a natural local amenity.

Wimbledon High School GDST - Partnership Programme.
Last week 10th to 12th June 2026 saw a party of ladies visit the Guild to help us carry out works to our offices including painting and decorating, gardening and general refurbishments and a very good job they did too!!!
More importantly they mixed with our older members and we were very pleased they could join us for our monthly pub lunch. It was certainly a lively and jolly event.
The ladies of the school will join us on Thursday afternoons with a programme of activities such as the now famous Karaoke afternoon, Bingo and Games and making Tote Bags.

Exercise Class:
Friday 12.45pm-1.45pm. Holy Cross Church, Douglas Avenue, KT3 6HT. A mixed seated and standing exercise class delivered by Michela Kent at the Holy Cross Church Hall.
The aim is to maintain and improve mobility, help well being and have fun. A free class for first session, then usual fee is £4.00 per session. For more information ring us on 02086401640.

Friday 19th June. At the Guild office in Aberconway Road at 10am till 12.30pm. A lively coffee morning with a group of older people from a wide variety of backgrounds. A friendly and welcoming bunch coming to this event is often the best place to find out about the Guild. No Charges (though small donations always appreciated)

Thursday 18th June at 10am. A one hour active and mixed ability exercise class for older people. There is a £4.00 fee per attendance. Your first visit is free of charge to see how you like it.
