Drainage improvement works are finally progressing well. 👷‍♂️🚧

New drainage chambers and pipework are now being installed to help tackle the constant flow of water running down the access paths, the build-up of mud, and the flooding issues affecting nearby gardens.

This looks like a much more substantial long-term solution rather than another temporary patch-up. Hopefully once completed, it will make a huge difference during heavy rainfall and improve conditions for everyone affected.

Today we remember Lee Rigby.

A loyal soldier, a devoted father, and a true British hero who gave his life while serving his country. His courage, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten.

Lee did not seek glory or recognition — he simply did his duty with honour and pride.

Gone, but never forgotten.
Forever in our hearts.

Lest We Forget 🌺🇬🇧

Another positive update 👏🌧️

Looks like progress is really starting now. All the materials have been dropped off and work is moving forward properly. Seeing these huge soakaways, drainage pipes and concrete chambers arrive gives us real hope that this could finally solve the flooding issues we’ve all been dealing with for so long.

Hopefully once this is finished we’ll no longer see flood water and mud running down the alleyway and the bottom of Cemetery Hill every time it rains.

It’ll be amazing to see children able to walk to school with dry feet instead of muddy shoes, residents not worrying every time there’s heavy rain, and the community finally getting some peace of mind.

This is exactly what happens when a community comes together, keeps pushing and refuses to give up. A happy community indeed ❤️

This is what community looks like 👏❤️

For so long we’ve been banging on about the flooding by the cemetery, the alleyway, and the damage caused to people’s gardens. So many residents have raised concerns time and time again — and finally, when a community comes together and refuses to stay quiet, voices are heard and things start getting done.

A massive thank you to Cllr Susanna Thomas for constantly pushing this issue and doing her best . Also thank you to every single member of the community who supported this, shared posts, commented, spoke up and signed the petition. It may not even be needed now, but I honestly think it woke a few County councillors up when they saw on social media exactly what residents have been dealing with. After weeks of knocking on doors, speaking to residents, gathering support, sending emails to Mold Town Council, raising concerns publicly and pushing this issue constantly online, we finally have workmen on the ground and action being taken.

I spoke to the workmen today and they explained they’re now putting in large soakaways/sinkholes to help stop the flooding after heavy rainfall, along with deeper drains to cope with the volume of water coming down. They’re also planning to install a kerb to help direct the water properly into the drains instead of it flooding down the alley way and into nearby properties.

Absolutely amazing to see progress finally happening. This proves that when a community stands together, shares concerns and keeps pushing, things CAN get done. 👏💪🌧️

⚠️ Parents/Guardians Please Be Aware ⚠️

I am sharing this as seen on a friend’s Facebook post.

There has been a report of a grey van with two people inside acting suspiciously around the Mold area. Police have been contacted.

Please remind children who are out playing not to be alone and to stay with friends or trusted adults where possible.

Sharing for awareness and safety 💛

I’ve been out and about speaking with lots of residents, getting signatures for the petition and listening to the concerns people have in our community 🏘️❤️

One thing that keeps coming up is the increase in rats being seen around housing estates — and many people are now actually seeing them in daylight. Rats carry many diseases, so this is becoming a real concern for residents.

We all love feeding the birds 🐦 but please make sure food is placed in proper bird feeders and not thrown on the floor, as this can attract rats and other pests very quickly.

It’s been lovely chatting with everyone face to face and hearing about the different issues and concerns people have. Introducing myself properly, listening to residents, and working together as a community is so important. Every single person who answered their door has given me such a warm welcome, so thank you very much for that 🙏

There’s still a few more things for me to do over the next few days (or next week), but this is all about our community — what people think, what they want to see happen, and the changes they want to see made.

When we work together as a community, our voices are stronger, we build understanding, and we can make a real difference 💪✨

Correspondence have now been sent to Environmental Health, housing associations, and Welsh Water regarding the concerns residents have raised.

Thank you again to everyone who has taken the time to chat, sign the petition, and share their thoughts

Residents of Mold East Ward,

We are asking Flintshire County Council to properly investigate and permanently resolve the ongoing drainage problems on Cemetery Hill and along the access link to Lon Yr Orsaf, Ffordd Pentre and surrounding properties that rely on this route to access schools, the town centre and Tesco.

The drains on Cemetery Hill are regularly blocked with mud and debris, and whenever we have heavy rain the route becomes unsafe and extremely difficult to use — especially for children walking to school. This is a key school route and should be treated as a priority if there is a genuine commitment to supporting walking to school and active travel.

Flintshire County Council has legal duties under a number of Welsh Government policies, including:

• Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013
• Active Travel Design Guidance
• Planning Policy Wales
• Safe Routes in Communities
• Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015

These policies require routes to be safe, accessible and suitable for everyday walking and cycling. Unfortunately, the current condition of Cemetery Hill clearly falls short of these standards.

We are calling for:
✔️ A full drainage survey
✔️ Investigation into the root cause of the flooding and mud
✔️ A permanent long-term solution
✔️ Funding through Active Travel and Safe Routes schemes

On top of this, we now also have a growing rat problem affecting two estates, which is becoming a serious concern for residents.

I’m looking for a few people willing to help gather support and signatures across the following areas in Mold:

• Moldsdale Road
• Woodlands Close
• Bron Y Nant
• Woodlands Road & Kenstone Close
• Ffordd Pentre

I can cover some estates myself, but extra help would be hugely appreciated.

If you’d like to help or support this campaign, please comment below or send me a message.

Today we remember and honour the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of all those who served and gave so much during World War II.

On VE Day, we say thank you to the servicemen and women, the families who waited at home, and every person whose strength helped secure peace and freedom for future generations.

Their bravery and sacrifice will never be forgotten. ❤️
