Just wanted to say a quick message about the purpose of
the page MK Homeless Support CIC
and the group MK Homeless & Community Support CIC Group ❤️
When MK Homeless first started, a lot of the group was based around us showing the community what could be done. We were out every day doing outreach, helping people directly, building connections, securing food from businesses and support from the community, and trying to show people that when everyone comes together, real change can happen.
As we’ve grown, our goals have grown too.
We’re not only trying to help with food and essentials anymore we’re also trying to help with rehabilitation, housing, recovery, and getting people back on their feet long term. There’s also a lot happening behind the scenes that people don’t always see.
Our page MK Homeless Support CIC is the main face of the charity. That’s where we post updates, outreach work, and everything we’re doing as a team, and then we share those updates into the group.
But now the group itself has become something bigger too. It’s a community space for everybody.
It’s a place where people can support each other, whether that’s helping someone whose post has been approved, offering advice, donating items, sharing posts, pointing someone in the right direction, or simply taking the time to comment and check in on somebody.
A lot of people don’t realise how much even small things help. A share, a comment, or reaching out to someone in need can genuinely make a massive difference, not only to that person, but to the wider community we’re trying to build together.
And honestly, we do notice the people who consistently support others and get involved. We’d always love to bring more people on board who genuinely care about helping the community and being part of what we’re building.
At the start, the group may have felt more centred around us doing everything directly, but now that we’ve shown what can be done together, we’d really love to see the whole community continue using this group to help and support one another too ❤️
