🌱 A RESOURCE THAT MAKES PUBERTY EDUCATION RELEVANT, RELATABLE & EMPOWERING! 🌱

One of the resources that has been incredibly valuable to Girls Flow Free is this Growth and Changes resource, developed by Columbia University, specifically designed to support puberty education within the Ghanaian context. 🇬🇭💜

Puberty is more than just a biological change. For many young girls, it is a season filled with questions, confusion, cultural expectations and sometimes embarrassment. Having a resource that speaks to their real-life experiences, culture and environment makes these conversations so much more meaningful.

📖 Through our work at Girls Flow Free, this resource has helped us create age-appropriate, culturally relevant and engaging conversations around puberty, menstruation, body changes and growing up.

Because when girls understand what is happening to their bodies, they are better equipped to embrace their changes, make informed choices and grow with confidence.

🩸 YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT WE’RE SHOWING GIRLS…

MENSTRUAL BLOOD.

Not because we want to shock them.
Not because we want to embarrass them.
But because education starts with being willing to talk about what society tells us to hide.

A blood-stained pad is not disgusting.
A period is not shameful.
And girls should never feel embarrassed about their own bodies.

At Girls Flow Free, our facilitators create safe spaces where girls can learn about menstruation, menstrual products, hygiene, and the choices available to them — without fear or shame.

Because when a girl understands her body, she becomes more confident in herself. 💪🏾🌸

Period Products. Informed Choices. Empowered Girls.

Every girl deserves to understand her period and know that there is more than one way to manage it.

From disposable pads and tampons to menstrual cups and reusable products, different menstrual products offer different benefits. What works for one girl may not work for another — and that’s okay.

At Girls Flow Free, we believe menstrual education should go beyond simply providing products. It’s about giving girls accurate information, creating safe spaces for questions, and empowering them to make informed choices about what is right for their bodies, comfort and circumstances.

A menstrual cup in a girl's hand is more than a product — it represents knowledge, choice, confidence and possibility.
