Hey folks long time! Whilst the last pumptrack project was sadly bulldozed we are back to the original tarmac project with energy from the current Mayor and policymakers wanting to see that we have cycling infrastructure built for the community including pumptracks. I’ve created a WhatsApp community for this as FB is not the right place to get things going it’s more for posting updates. If anyone wants involvement in the community WhatsApp group to share their ideas and be able to help in an informal capacity when needed please drop me your contact number and name and I’ll add you to the group. Hi guys great opportunity to get Stacey Bushes BUCKTHORN PARK UPGRADE a pumptrack, please fill out the survey NOW!! Go to www.wolvertona dgreenleystowncouncil.gov.uk/latest_news_24665.aspx
Hope the link works - see the link on the left hand side ‘complete the survey’
The council tell me they have less than 20 people putting forward their opinions on how the park should be rebuilt with 50/50 funding via local council and CMK. Share it where you can with friends and family and riders.

Oakgrove Pumptrack has had a remodel by Clark & Kent Contractors Ltd Thankfully they know what they are doing unlike the the first attempt by the local council giving the contract to a national road tarmac contractor with a drawing of a pumptrack and then hoping it would turn out all good. This shows the lack of responsibility and knowledge for our taxes allocation let’s please not let it happen again Milton Keynes Council. We’ve had so many poor attempts at delivering rideable facilities it’s not only a waste of money it’s dangerous and utterly embarrassing. To get it right you need to engage the support and the wider community of riders that are always happy to assist not the person that hasn’t ridden a actual pumptrack in their entire life. Despite the The Parks Trust bulldozing our local dirt trails as mentioned in a post they did support this remodelling I think at the time they had someone who knew what they were talking about, not so sure nowadays, come across more like politicians to me but hey ho they paid for it so dues where due. Go ride the new-ish pumptrack!!!

The cost of a pump track can vary depending on the size and complexity of the track, as well as the materials used in its construction. However, compared to other outdoor facilities such as sports fields or playgrounds, pump tracks are relatively affordable to build and maintain.

One of the main benefits of a pump track is that it can be used by people of all ages and abilities for a variety of activities, including cycling, skateboarding, and rollerblading. This makes it a versatile and inclusive facility that can attract a wide range of users.

In addition, pump tracks provide an opportunity for social interaction and community building. They are often used as meeting places for friends and families, and can help build a sense of community among residents.

Pump tracks also have health benefits. They provide a challenging and exciting workout that can help improve cardiovascular health, balance, and coordination. By providing a safe and accessible outdoor space for physical activity, pump tracks can help reduce the risk of obesity, diabetes, and other chronic diseases.

Compared to other outdoor facilities, pump tracks require relatively little maintenance and are durable enough to withstand heavy use. They also have a relatively small footprint, making them ideal for smaller parks and recreation areas.

Overall, the cost of building and maintaining a pump track is outweighed by the benefits it provides in terms of physical activity, community building, and health promotion. Some of the best are made by the likes of Velosolutions and Clark & Kent Contractors Ltd

Wouldn't it be great if The Labour Party Pete Marland or Liberal Democrats key Councillor like Robin Bradburn would work with Health Minister Steve Barclay to say, we strongly believe that access to safe and accessible outdoor spaces is vital for the health and wellbeing of our communities. That's why were excited to share with you today the benefits of a local pumptracks.

Pumptracks are a fun and safe way for people of all ages and abilities to get active and enjoy the outdoors. They are perfect for cycling, skateboarding, and other wheeled sports, and provide a challenging and exciting workout that can help improve cardiovascular health, balance, and coordination.

But pumptracks are more than just a fun way to get active. They also provide an opportunity for social interaction and community building. Pumptracks are often used as meeting places for friends and families, and can help build a sense of community among residents.

In addition, pumptracks are a great way to encourage children and young people to get active and develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime. By providing a safe and accessible outdoor space for physical activity, we can help reduce the risk of obesity, diabetes, and other chronic diseases.

That's why we should all be committed to supporting the development of local pumptracks in communities across the UK. Together, we can create safe and accessible outdoor spaces that promote health, wellbeing, and community engagement.
We can but dream.
