🛏️🐞 Don't let the bed bugs check in!

In this warmer weather, bed bugs become more active – and they can hitch a ride into any home on luggage, clothing or second-hand furniture. Remember, having bed bugs isn't a sign of a dirty home.

Look out for:
🔸 Bites in lines or clusters
🔸 Tiny blood spots on bedding
🔸 Dark marks on mattresses
🔸 Bugs hiding in mattress seams or cracks

If you think you have bed bugs:
✅ Wash and tumble dry bedding and clothing on a high heat
✅ Vacuum mattresses and bed frames thoroughly
✅ Reduce clutter to remove hiding places

Don't:
❌ Move infested items around your home
❌ Sleep elsewhere – they'll simply follow you!

The sooner bed bugs are identified, the easier they are to treat. If you think you have an infestation, contact us as soon as possible so we can help stop the problem from getting worse.

A quick response can make all the difference. 💚

🚴‍♂️ Looking for something fun and active this summer?

RUTS is delivering FREE Rock Up and Ride BMX sessions across Midlothian during the school holidays, giving young people aged 10–18 the chance to get outdoors, learn new BMX skills, build confidence and have fun with friends.

Delivered in partnership with Scottish Cycling and Midlothian Council’s Summer of Sports programme, the sessions, which start next Thursday (9 July), are open to all abilities and led by experienced, qualified coaches in a safe and supportive environment.

Places are limited to 20 participants per session, so booking early is recommended.

We’ve been made aware of suspicious phone calls where callers claim to be from or working with Melville Housing and ask questions about your home or tenancy.

One recently reported number used is 020 3872 3882, which has been widely flagged as a scam attempt.

🔐 Please remember:
❌ Melville Housing will never pressure you for personal or tenancy details over the phone
✅ If you’re unsure, hang up and call Melville directly using a trusted number
❌ Don’t share any sensitive information unless you’ve independently verified the caller
🤔 If something feels off, it probably is
