Our Open Day is tomorrow and if you’ve been thinking about learning something new, gaining a qualification, building your confidence or taking the next step towards further education or employment, come and see what’s available at Tees Valley Womens Centre.

🎨 TODAY’S THE DAY – COME AND CELEBRATE WITH US! 💜

After a summer of creativity, collaboration and hard work, today we officially reveal our beautiful new community mural at Tees Valley Womens Centre – and we’d love you to be there!

Created by local artist Jessica Leigh alongside women from TVWC, the mural has been inspired by the stories, memories and experiences of the women who make our centre the special place it is.

Come along today, see the finished mural for the first time and help us celebrate this wonderful community project.

🎨 TOMORROW – OUR COMMUNITY MURAL IS REVEALED!

After a summer of creativity, collaboration and community, we’re excited to officially unveil our new mural at Tees Valley Womens Centre tomorrow.

Throughout the summer, local artist Jessica Leigh has worked alongside women from TVWC to transform their stories, memories, experiences and ideas into a vibrant piece of artwork celebrating the story of our centre.

From the first community workshops to the incredible artwork taking shape, this reel gives just a glimpse of the journey so far – and tomorrow, you can come and see the finished mural for yourself!

Alongside the unveiling, there will also be an art exhibition and an opportunity to meet the TVWC Art Club and celebrate the creativity of women within our community.

This project has been a wonderful example of what can be achieved through creativity, partnership and giving women the opportunity to share their voices and experiences.

We are extremely grateful to the Teesworks benevolent foundation for funding and supporting the project, and to PPG for generously supplying the paint materials that have helped bring the mural to life.

Our thanks also go to Jessica Leigh and every woman who has shared her stories, ideas, time and creativity throughout the project.

🎨 BUILD CONFIDENCE THROUGH CREATIVITY 💜

Fancy trying something creative, learning new skills and enjoying a couple of hours each week just for you?

Our Art for Confidence course is about so much more than creating art. It’s a chance to build confidence, meet new people, explore your creativity and support your wellbeing in a friendly and relaxed environment.

Across the four weeks, you'll get hands-on with a fantastic mix of activities:

🎨 Watercolour painting – experiment with colour and create your own artwork
✏️ Charcoal sketching – discover new drawing techniques
🧶 Macramé hangings – learn a relaxing new craft
🏺 Mini clay sculptures – get creative and make something completely your own
🌿 Origami plants & planters – have fun learning the art of paper folding

You don't need to be "good at art" to join. This course is all about having a go, discovering what you enjoy and growing in confidence along the way.
