1st Methwold scout group Welcome to our page, here we are going to be posting regular updates on our group!

Beavers (6-8 years old) meet on Tuesdays 6-7.30pm

Cubs (8-10 years old) meet on Wednesdays 6.30-8pm

Scouts (10-14 years old) meet on Fridays 7-8.30pm

On saturday, our first day on camp we put all the tents ⛺️ up, made 2 soups 🍲 and bread 🍞 We certainly had mixed opinions on the soups but the bread was definitely a favourite of everyone!

In the evening we had a campfire 🔥, sang campfire songs and chilled out after a busy day of putting tents up.

Also bonus photos of the shopping Thursday night!

If your child is interested in joining then don't hesitate to speak to us, we can answer any questions you have and are more than happy to help. We start back in September and cover ages 6-14 in 3 sections (beavers, cubs and scouts)

If you want to volunteer feel free to message us aswell, you don't need any skills or qualifications, you just need to give up 2 hours a week to enrich the lives of the children in our area.

We had an amazing 9 day camp last week, lots of badges earned and definitely lots of fun had!
A huge thanks to Rustys Ranch for the amazing day you put on for us, Highball climbing centre in norwich for the awesome session they put on for us, 1st Dickleburgh scout group for letting us use their sail boats, kayaks and canoe's.

Does anyone have any wooden sleepers for free or cheap as the ones for our campfire pit are going rotten! It would really help our group out and help with pur project to revitalise our campfire circle which is central to every camp we do.

We are currently preparing for our summer camp this year 🏕
9 days worth of activities and learning to enrich the lives of the young people in our area.
This will include
-Climbing 🧗‍♂️
-sailing⛵️
-kayaking🛶
-powerboating🚤
-swimming🏊‍♀️
-orienteering 🧭
-pionerring🪢
-campfires🔥
-cooking on Campfires!🍳
And so much more, this camp will push them so much closer to earning their cheif scout gold award!

We will also be doing more calmer things such as arts and crafts, reasearch to go towards badges and planning fundraisers.

If any of this sounds interesting then speak to us and bring your child along for a trial session.

We also always need volunteers so if you are interested or on the fence then just speak to us and you'll find out how much fun it is to volunteer in scouting!

Thank you to everyone who came to the grand reopening! 🥳 we had an amazing turn out amd raised £675 just on saturday!

The scouts had fun camping in the old patrol tents and are excited to see what is to come in the future for our group.

A massive thank you to Fendicks Fishery for all of the support and thank you to everyone who dontated money, raffle prizes and your time to help us out.

All together we have raised just over £3000! 🎉
This money will go straight back to enriching the lives of the children and making beavers, cubs and scouts better for everyone!

Starting in September we will be restarting beavers and cubs since we were unable to run those sections due to low numbers but we now have people interested!

We also need more volunteers. 🙋‍♂️
If you can spare an hour or 2 a week to help out the children in the community we would all appreciate it so much.
You don't need any specific skills if you can turn up once a week for the children that is all we ask.

If you are interested in volunteering or your child is interested in joining then just send us a message or give us a call and we will always be happy to answer any questions you have.

I hope you are all ready for the grand reopening tomorrow! Come along at 2 and get yourself an ice cream 🍦, cake 🎂 or an ice cold can of drink. Play some games, lean something new or do some crafts. If you fancy you could even buy a raffle ticket and possibly win yourself a new TV 📺 or £50! 💸 We also have a tombola and 2 adorable teddy bears 🧸🧸 you could win! Its all happening at the scout HQ tomorrow!

Hi everyone along with the 2 £50 💸 prizes we now have a brand new 40 inch TV 📺!

Come along this Saturday at 2pm and enjoy cakes ice cream and buy some raffle tickets and you may well be a winner 🏆

All of the money raised goes straight back into the children who come every week and will improve their experience so much.

We are all so thankful for the help everyone in the community has given.
