Life of a Founding Director in the Third Sector: As usual, so busy steering the ship, designing and delivering the young people’s mental health and wellbeing support and fundraising for Shine Bright CIC - Transforming Wellbeing Together, my social media and shouting proudly about what we do gets forgotten about!

I can assure you that we are supporting our Juniors, Teens and Young Adults mental health across Leeds, we have several WRAP - Wellness Recovery Action Plan groups running (with more to come…watch this space!), we provide lots of 1:1 support and training future WRAP facilitator’s and have even been successful in securing funding! We will shout about it all very soon!

In the meantime if you know someone who is considering volunteering some time to a good cause, (a few hours or regular support) founder Nicola Swales would benefit from your time! We are in need of individuals who have tech skills in social media, making short edits, updating website (Wordpress), setting up and overseeing a Etsy page and someone who is training to be/or are a researcher to support us on a specific project, please do get in touch for a chat.

Shine Bright CIC - Transforming Wellbeing Together led by Nicola Swales continues to support children, young people and young adults and well-being across , every week.

We help young communities to get well, be well and to stay well through our free ongoing Junior Peer Support Group, Teens Peer Support Group, Transitions Peer Support Group and current 17-25yr old Transitions WRAP - Wellness Recovery Action Plan programmes, 1:1 support and community asset building activities. More groups to come!

Help us provide food vouchers to our young people in a crisis. Many young people who we support who live independently or with their families are struggling to put food on their tables.

Shine Bright CIC - Transforming Wellbeing Together does what it can in groups and sessions to provide food during our time together and for them to take home.

Due to presenting need, we increasingly direct a portion of our JustGiving community donations received, into food vouchers for supermarkets for the young people, so they can do a much needed food shop, bridging the time gap between them sourcing a referral for food banks or visits to a pantry.

Shine Bright CIC - Transforming Wellbeing Together provides free, individual and group mental health support sessions to children, young people and young adults up to 25 yrs old who are in need.

Shine Bright CIC - Transforming Wellbeing Together Junior WRAP - Wellness Recovery Action Plan Peer Support group continues to run fortnightly throughout the year supporting Leeds Children’s health and happiness. After well-being check-in, sharing wellness tools and anonymous peer advice tin the group created collage animals for a range of cards, sang on karaoke and led fun team activities.

This group for over a year has been maintained by shine bright without children and young people’s funding. More WRAP programmes will run with secured funding in the future, reaching more young people.

- Transforming Wellbeing Together would like to thank the players of who awarded us an unrestricted grant over the last year 2025-2026, to support children and young people’s mental health and well-being across . Their grant enabled us to sustain support for our children and young people peer support groups and gave us some respite whilst we sought further funding.

Shine Bright provides accessible WRAP - Wellness Recovery Action Plan - wellbeing peer support groups that support our young communities to get well, be well and stay well and even train to be WRAP Peer facilitators themselves enabling them to co-deliver support. See our qualified peers in the photo below!

We continue to support our young communities and we plan to re apply for further support from this great fund!
