The Solace in Oak Vision Takes the Road (Concept Unveiled)**

We are thrilled to unveil the initial concept design for the **Solace in Oak Mobile Lounge!**

This bespoke, luxury unit represents the **ambition** of our national mission. While our ultimate dream is to have this mobile sanctuary on the road, we want to be transparent: **this is currently a concept design.** We are launching Solace in Oak with no official funding, and our journey is all about building this vision from the ground up, with the help of our community and partners.

# # # **Our Phased Strategy: Building the Sanctuary**

A traditional "brick and mortar" lounge takes significant time and capital to establish. So, we are starting with high-impact, low-cost activities that build our community and brand right now:

1. **Local Pop-Up Evenings:** We are launching **pub takeovers** on select nights in different venues across the Derbyshire Dales. These hosted evenings will feature the same high-quality discussion and camaraderie as our permanent vision.
2. **Patron Socials:** We will host **monthly meals out** exclusively for our patron members, offering a consistent, safe space for connection.

# # # **The Mobile Lounge: The Future of Our National Mission**

The Mobile Lounge is designed to take our mission to the next level. When realized, this vehicle will allow us to:

* **Tour the UK:** Travel from corner to corner of the country, documenting our journey to publicly **destigmatize men's mental health** and reach men aged **25 and over** who need support.
* **Support Pop-Ups:** Act as the perfect accompaniment to our pop-up evenings, offering a distinctive Solace in Oak feel wherever we go.
* **Generate Revenue:** Be rented out for **private events, festivals, and shows**, creating a vital, sustainable revenue stream for the mental health mission.

This is a beautiful, sophisticated space designed to break the chains of isolation and stigma. We are ready to bring our discussion nights, live speakers, coffee and cigar tastings, and safe conversation to men across the nation.

For two decades, I stood behind a barber's chair, listening. I heard the laughter, the life updates, and, more often than you might think, the unspoken struggles that men carry. It taught me that while our local businesses build our economy, the true strength of our community lies in the well-being of its people.

That’s why I’m building **Solace in Oak**.

Solace in Oak is a unique men's mental health and wellbeing lounge. While we offer coffee and whisky, we do not advertise as a drinking establishment. Our aesthetic is one of **traditional, gentlemanly sophistication**, embodying an old-fashioned English class. This space is a sanctuary for old-fashioned camaraderie and genuine conversation, designed to be a crucial **middle ground** for all men before a personal crisis hits.

We will host a variety of events, including **weekly topic discussions with a live speaker**, social nights, and activities like chess matches, poker games, and spirit tastings. This is a place where men are encouraged to come alone, to step outside their usual circles, and to engage in hosted conversations within a confidential and safe space. We also cater for sobriety and offer a special membership for those in recovery, ensuring everyone feels welcome and supported.

To make our services more accessible, we are developing a range of **tiered membership packages**, and we will have **in-house licensed therapists** available for additional professional help.

Every thriving community is built on healthy individuals. When men feel connected and supported, they are better employees, better fathers, and more engaged citizens. Solace in Oak will contribute directly to a more resilient, connected, and mentally healthier workforce right here in the Dales.

A difficult conversation to have…

Lads, let's talk for a minute.

So often, we feel the pressure to have it all together. To be strong. To not ask for help. But the truth is, behind closed doors, a lot of men are carrying the weight of loneliness, burnout, and a silent struggle.

We're building **Solace in Oak**, a dedicated mental health and well-being hub in the heart of the Derbyshire Peaks. This isn't just a place; it's a sophisticated and relaxing lounge designed for the more mature gentleman. It's a much-needed space for the average guy—the one juggling a job, family life, and everything else in between.

**Solace in Oak: A Call for Creativity to Change Lives**

As we prepare for our major fundraising event this November, we are looking for a talented and passionate **Graphic Designer** or **Interior Designer** to join our mission on a pro bono basis.

We are seeking a creative professional who can help us visualize the future of the **Solace in Oak Coffee & Whisky Lounge**—a dedicated new men's mental health and well-being hub in the heart of the Derbyshire Peaks.

Your task would be to create a digital image or a virtual tour of the lounge's proposed layout. This digital representation is crucial. It will allow us to show our community and our generous donors exactly what their contributions from the fundraiser will be funding. We want to be able to show our current empty space and then present a stunning digital tour of the comfortable, welcoming hub we plan to create.

Are you passionate about empowering young people and building a stronger community? **Brother-Hub Projects** is a dynamic new initiative in Darley Dale, Bakewell, Matlock, and surrounding areas, dedicated to providing **100% free life skills, real-world education, and positive experiences** for local youth. We're growing fast, and we need your energy and expertise!

We're looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as **Volunteers** and to help steer our future as **Board Members**. If you're ready to inspire, educate, and create positive change, we want to hear from you!

# # **Volunteer Roles: Get Hands-On and Inspire!**

Our volunteers are the backbone of Brother-Hub Projects, bringing our events and classes to life. No prior experience is necessary for many roles – just enthusiasm and a desire to help young people thrive!

We're seeking volunteers for roles such as:

* **Event Support & Supervision:** Help set up and run our free movie nights, assist with activities, and ensure a safe, fun environment for all attendees.
* **Youth Mentors / Activity Leaders:** Lead or assist with our upcoming life skills classes (e.g., cooking, self-care, hygiene) or creative workshops (music, videography, drama, dance). Share your skills and passions directly with our youth!
* **Outreach & Promotion:** Help spread the word about our events and projects in the community, distribute flyers, and engage with local families.
* **Logistics & Setup:** Assist with transporting equipment, setting up venues, and general hands-on tasks to ensure our operations run smoothly.
* **Drivers (with appropriate license):** Help with transport needs for equipment or supervised trips.

**What we're looking for in Volunteers:**

* A genuine passion for supporting young people.
* Reliability, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
* Ability to work well in a team.
* Willingness to undergo a DBS check (paid for by Brother-Hub Projects).
