Good morning, Marsden residents!
We now have 15 defibrillators located across the village with 4 more to follow. To keep them ready for use at all times, each one needs a quick monthly check (where possible) and must be registered as operational with the Circuit every three months.

We’re currently looking for volunteers to help with this important task. Each check and registration only takes a couple of minutes.

Full training will be provided.

❤️ 𝟭𝟱 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗲𝗻

We wanted to share just how far the project has come.

Thanks to months of fundraising, community support, and volunteer effort, Marsden Defib has helped install 𝟭𝟱 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 across the village:

9 - Olive Branch (Manchester Rd)
10 - Warrington Terrace (Manchester Rd)
11 - Football Club (Carrs Rd)
12 - Marsden Social Club (Manchester Rd)
13 - Marsden Sports Hall (Fall Ln)
14 - Remo Court (Waters Rd)
15 - Slaithwaite Hall (Marsden Ln)

We're proud of what has been achieved so far, but our work isn't finished. We continue to raise funds to install and maintain more public defibrillators across Marsden, helping ensure lifesaving equipment is always close by when seconds count.

We're also delighted to see 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 in neighbouring 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗲, where 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 is bringing together a team to improve access to defibrillators and training. Please give them your support and encouragement as their project develops.

We are delighted to announce that we have installed another life-saving defibrillator, kinBritish Heart Foundationsh Heart Foundation.
The new unit is now in place in the small hamlet of Slawit Hall, on the outskirts of Marsden. This is one of the most vulnerable and remote areas, where emergency services can take longer to reach.
Our work continues at pace, and we are pleased to confirm that two more defibrillators will be installed over the next two weeks.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful supporters who have helped the Defib team through fundraising, training, and raising awareness.
Upcoming Training Day
We will be running a free CPR and defibrillator training session on Sunday 28th June at Marsden Bark in the Park. Please come along, say hello, and learn these vital lifesaving skills.

We’re pleased to announce that we have successfully installed another defibrillator. This latest unit is fitted on the garage at Remo Court on Waters Road, providing vital coverage for Waters Road, Hey Green, Eastergate, and Berry Greave.
The area is a popular route for walkers, so the defibrillator will also be available to help visitors and passers-by.
Our sincere thanks go to Mr & Mrs Barnes for kindly allowing us to install the defibrillator on their garage.

It was great to meet with Jason McCartney Friday to discuss the progress of the Marsden Defibs project and our 10-year plan to secure future defibrillator upgrades, replacement pads, and ongoing sustainability.
Jason kindly committed to supporting the project by helping us identify and connect with new funding opportunities we haven’t yet approached.
We also explored the possibility of expanding the initiative to other villages across the Colne Valley and Holme Valley by linking up with local community groups.

𝗔 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 ❤️

We’re incredibly grateful to 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗿 and 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗲𝗻 for jointly funding another public access defibrillator for Marsden.

The defib has been installed on Meltham Road, helping make life-saving equipment more accessible for residents and visitors alike.

It was fantastic to meet together for a celebratory handover photo and recognise what can be achieved when local groups come together for the community.

Evening folks, for the second time in two days someone as had what appears to be negative comments about an 11 year old and a 14 year old who are “learning CPR” this is why some people are scared to help out in a rescue situation, when you have a person who is dead or dying in front of you you have a decision to make, do l help or do l let them die! At this point there is nothing that you do can make this situation worse.

Both those children were in the right area for CPR and after last nights comment l made sure that the hands were placed between the ni***es!

We need encouragement not negativity!

These children are learning CPR and these sort of posts are just to encourage people to have the courage to help when needed.

It is our aim as it is the aim of the person who commented to help those who need help.

You may not have intended to be over critical however in my opinion it reads negative, Again just my opinion

Finally l don’t want a battle over this as we all trying to help.
