A busy few days in the Community Shed!

We have a really nice mid-century dressing table and dresser that we have been cleaning up and repairing. It is now sanded down and restored - but what should we do with it?

Do we stain and varnish it to bring it back to it's original state?

Do we paint it in muted tones for a classy contemporary look?

Or do we go completely mad and go for zebra stripes and foliage?

If you are interested in buying it you can be the one to choose !

We have also made a number of (we think) really attractive table lamps using vintage wooden block planes.

Prices vary depending upon the size of the bulb - drop us a message and we'll talk you through the options.

Set in the grounds of California Lodge Garden Centre, Howden Men’s Shed is a friendly, busy place where men of all ages can come and learn new skills, practice old ones, or just put the world to rights over a cup of tea!

It’s not just about building and making things, it’s about building friendships, making social connections and sharing skills, knowledge and a lot of laughter!

If you have had enough of daytime TV, if you have 'nothing to do' or nowhere to do it or if you just want to meet up with a bunch of likeminded chaps for a cuppa and a chinwag just come along and say hello!

We are open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:30-13:00,so if you are interested just drop in for a cup of tea and have a look around - you are guaranteed a warm reception!

Spring is just around the corner - that's nesting time!

We have a large selection of bird boxes, Hedgehog houses and Bat boxes - and now Owl boxes available. or made to order,by members of the Howden Community Shed!

Prices start at £20 and all the proceeds go to the Community Shed project!

Stuck for Christmas Present ideas?
We are taking orders for bird boxes, bird tables, bat boxes and hedgehog boxes !

All made from sturdy plywood ready to decorate in any way you choose - or we can paint and treat for a couple of quid more.

Prices range from £12 for a small bird boxes, £20 for a bat box and £35 for a hedgehog palace.

Only available on pre-order and all funds raised go towards the community shed.

Come and see us at the shed on Tuesdays or Wednesdays to have a look at- or leave us a message and we’ll get in touch with you!

We are sorry to report that, due to medical reasons, the Shed will not be open on Thursdays for the next few weeks.
We are still open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as usual.

Lovely little recycling project taking shape - building a suite of outdoor furniture for the Howden Primary School's outdoor library area - of you'd like to lend a hand come down to the Shed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:30 - 1530!

If anyone out there is getting a new kitchen fitted, we are looking for a 1200mm base unit for the community shed - let's know if one is going into the skip we'll nip round and give it a good home!
