Last week, we took ourselves to The New Inn in Minster, to once again showcase our Bat & Trap talents. While it’s clear we have some seasoned pro’s among us, there are others who need to get some practice in before the next time we line ourselves up!

We then sat ourselves down for dinner, featuring a queue of scotch eggs. There’s no scotch egg like it! During which, we held a raffle & watched as some eBay auctions ended. Fundraising from our members is now sitting at £329.46 for the year after 3 meetings, which is a great chunk towards our sports programme with Inclusive Sport launching this summer.

Next up, we have mini golf at Quex Park on Wednesday 20th May ⛳️ want to join us? Drop us a message!

Last week we did something a bit different. We ran a reselling workshop at St Peters Memorial Hall, sharing tips on how to spot value in everyday items and turn it into something useful.

We kept it light with a few games - The Price is Right and Higher or Lower helped people get a feel for what things are actually worth!

It all feeds into our plan to start reselling items and raise money for our programme with Inclusive Sport. You’ll be surprised what’s sitting in your cupboards!

Next up - Bat & Trap at The New Inn on 6th May. Home of the greatest scotch egg many of us have ever eaten!

Last night we held our AGM at our much beloved Olbys, where we inducted our new Chairman Jay. Thank you to Olby's Soul Café for the hosting & hospitality.

Some words from our new Chairman -

“This year, I’m focusing our efforts on building something close to me, through Movement for Mental Health and the impact that staying active can have.
I’m really proud to be doing this alongside Inclusive Sport.

Together, we’ll be funding and delivering a 42 week programme of free sports sessions for the local community, starting this summer, giving people access to activity, structure and the support they might not otherwise have.

We’ll be doing a range of things throughout the year to fund these classes, from our own movement challenges, to events and a few other ideas we’ll be rolling out soon. I tend to hyper-fixate on things I want to make a success of, so I’m fully invested in making this year count.

We already have some great venue options in place, but if you’re a local venue or have space that could host sports sessions, we’d still love to hear from you.

Here’s to a great year ahead!”

We are still out in force collecting at Victoria Station London.

Any donations are welcome however big or small, we are just hoping to make a small difference.

Have a great day!

Our members have headed up to some London train stations today to collect donations on behalf of BBC's Children In Need. We're taking cards and cash donations and if you're lucky you might even see Pudsey bear!

If you aren't near our members in London you can still donate direct to children in need here:

https://donate.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/

Anything people can donate will make a massive difference to children who need it most but please don't feel pressured to donate or bad if you aren't in a position to!

At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, we pause to remember. 🌹
Today, we honour the courage, service, and sacrifice of all who have defended our freedom — in the World Wars and in conflicts since.

We remember their courage.
We honour their sacrifice.
We will never forget. ❤️

For our last meeting one of our members organised a 'game show' with multiple rounds based on TV classics like 'Mock the Week' 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' and even a spot of 'Countdown' (he's no Rachel Riley though!)

A great casual evening with some big laughs and everyone catching up.

As always there was food involved, this time it was pizza from Hot Wood Pizza in Westgate and we'd highly recommend it.

As always comment below or DM us to get involved.

*Other clubs exist for ladies and older gents so no-one gets left out. Visit https://round-table.org/family-organisations/ for more details*

For our last meeting we decided to spend our evening giving a little back to the local area, especially after our recent meetings made the most of our beautiful surroundings.

We got ourselves some bags, bag clips and picker sticks and completed a litter pick from the Oval Bandstand Cliftonville to the bottom of the hill at the start of Margate beach.

It was honestly shocking how much rubbish there was and we could have spent a whole day but in a couple of hours were cleared 8 black sacks worth!

After our efforts we indulged in some wonderful food from Olby's Soul Café in Margate.

It was such a simple thing with results that felt so rewarding and it was nice to get some positive comments from passers-by.

It's not something we do all the time but if there's a particular area that you think needs attention then drop us a message. Alternatively if you want to do the same but don't have the equipment get in touch and we can sort out a short loan so you too can do your bit!

The last couple of weeks we've taken advantage of our location and headed to Margate Beach for some sporty sessions on the sand.

Some casual (other than one who came straight from work and was in his suit!) cricket and dinner Imperial Bar & Meze Kitchen.

There was also some slightly more competitive volleyball against the Mini Red Arrows which we won, followed by dinner at Mechanical elephant because sometimes Spoons is just what you need!

If you're male, aged 18-45 are new to the area or lived here you're whole life and need a friend group, some fun and excitement and a bit of getting out and about every couple of weeks then Margate Round Table sounds like just what you need so drop us a message.

FYI there's other local options such as Margate Ladies Circle and 41 club for ladies or those gents over the Round Table Great Britain and Ireland age bracket.
