It's time for some more Wednesday Wisdom! After the celebrations of World Thinking Day on Sunday, you may have heard about the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts - also known as WAGGGS (with 3 Gs!). But what is WAGGGS?
WAGGGS is the global organisation for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. It's the biggest voluntary organisation for girls and young women in the world, with over 11 million members in 153 countries across the world. Today WAGGGS has links with many other organisations, including the United Nations, and gives some amazing opportunities to its member.
As a member of Girlguiding, you're also a member of WAGGGS - so you've got 11 million friends to meet around the world! In fact, many of our members will have friends from around the world thanks to WAGGGS.
WAGGGS also has 5 World Centres: Pax Lodge in London, Our Chalet in Switzerland, Nuestra Cabana in Mexico, Sangam in India and Kusafiri, which travels around Africa. All members of WAGGGS can visit these centres to learn more about WAGGGS programmes as well as making friends from all around the world.
