More compost has been delivered today, ready for the weekend. The weather promises to be good, perhaps too warm.

As many of you know, our own little charity provides food for people, mostly families, requiring help. We have three freezers and receive help in stocking them up. Our source of "cupboard fillers" is currently not operating and our stock has almost gone. If anyone can help by donating tinned, dried, bottled, rice, pasta or any other long-life items, it would be much appreciated. Just drop them off next time you're passing.

We will soon be reaching the time when we drop back to opening just one day each weekend. I suspect that will be the middle of June, when everything is set and growing. The opening day is likely to be Saturday; however, we will let you know in advance. For the time being we are staying with the Saturday and Sunday opening, 10.00 till 12.00.

Happy growing.

New stock of multi-purpose compost has arrived (300 bags) same stuff, new bag design and, sorry to say, new price of £5.50. this is accounted by product price increase plus fuel levy.

Virtually no Multipurpose compost available this weekend!

Everyone is wanting multipurpose compost and our suppliers cannot deliver until the middle of next week. We are almost out of stock - we have seed and modular compost and grow bags, but sad to say, less than 20 bags of multi.

Open as usual this weekend. Lorry delivered fresh supplies of multipurpose compost this week making us good to go.

01/04/2026

We will be closed this Sunday [Easter Sunday]. Open as usual on Saturday 4th.

We need some more volunteers to maintain our opening times. If you are interested call in and let us know.

Thanks

We are now having to pay a fuel levy of £20.00 every delivery. The easiest way for us to handle this is to increase the price of Clover Multipurpose Compost by 5p per bag, making it £5.35, a 1% increase. We have just over 2 pallets and after they have gone there could be another price increase. Well done Donald!

We have a supply of greenhouse glass 2' x 2'. Used but in good condition - donations to charity.

Plenty of multi purpose compost.
Onion sets and seed potatoes going down fast.
Shallots, garlic, peas and beans OK.

We are busy but always pleased to see you and do our best to supply what you need, but can't supply sunshine.

Good news. We've done some tidying up which will make it possible to get to some of the stock - in particular multipurpose compost.

As well as the pre-ordered seed potatoes we have 180 2kg bags available for general sale. There are earlies, seconds and main crop varieties and the prices range from £3.25 to £3.75. plus the £1 membership fee. The prices are very good and we will need everyone to recommend their fellow gardeners to ensure they all get planted.

We have yet to receive onions, shallots and garlic. We have ordered plenty and will keep you posted when they become available.

Thanks

Potato Orders are ready for collection beginning this weekend 7th & 8th. There are almost 700 bags [11/2 tons] of seed potatoes which presents us with a logistic problem. Expect us to be busy and the car park to be congested.

There is an alphabetical list of names along with the order price. The number by each name corresponds to the number on the paper sacks. [Several bags for large orders.]

Number 1 starts to the left of the door and continues in a clockwise direction.

We have plenty of potatoes for general sale and a good supply of multipurpose compost [when we can get to it.]

Open every weekend [Saturday and Sunday 10.00 'till 12.00]

See you over the next few weekends.

The seed potatoes have arrived and we are busy making up orders and preparing to have them ready for collection starting on Saturday 7th February (weather permitting).
It would be good to get the orders out because it is very difficult to get to other items. We will be open Saturdays and Sundays from the 7th.

We have plenty of stock for those who did not order.

Thanks
