Thanks to Mary Doolin, Regional Secretary of PCS union, speaking on behalf of WAFR last night at the Workers Against the Far Right meeting.

Mary gave a great speech with a historical overview of the role of women and women in the trade union movement, in struggles against fascism and racism.

Women Against the Far right stands proudly in this tradition.

In Manchester, Trafford, Bury and Stockport we launched the Stand Up To Racism campaign to stop racist Reform in the GM Mayoral election.

‘Use your votes to stop racist Reform UK’

Excellent launch of Bury

‘We leafleted in the sun, chatting with people, arguing for unity and inclusion and rejecting fear and division. People took leaflets home to put through letter boxes in their local area and to give out in their workplaces.

Great start in Trafford

‘We had a very successful morning leafleting the good people of Altrincham. Lots of lovely people including the local Green councillor and our MP took leaflets.’

Fantastic launch in Stockport

‘Lot’s of people stopped for chats and took leaflets away to distribute. Others joined SUTR group and want to help leafleting next week.

Unity in Manchester

Great reception on Market St Manchester for our ‘Stop Racist Reform’ message.

The far right message of racism and hate ‘drove people to our campaign stall’.

Jog on Keir Starmer. Apparently parroting the racism of the far right is not a good strategy for winning votes or keeping your job.

What you have done is platformed the far right’s hate and legitimised their rhetoric, whilst failing to address the real problems that we face.
