A huge good luck and thank you to everyone who is running in this weekend’s Great Manchester Run 10k and half marathon! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ We have 60 runners registered to race this weekend in support of JD Foundation. Please keep an eye out for them if you are watching the race in person or on TV (BBC Two 11am-1pm!) and cheer on our JD Foundation runners who will be wearing JDF t-shirts and/or flags! Our runners have collectively raised £8,890.70 so far 🥳🏅if you’d like to support them, please donate at their GiveWheel pages (which I’m sure they’ll drop in the comments below!) Thank you!

Through Community Give Back, we’re proud to award £1,000 to Anastasia Days, a local charity nominated by the JD Bolton Market Place team as part of their newly refreshed store opening.

During their first 2 weeks of trade, the team chose Anastasia Days as their spotlight charity, rallying customers to donate at the till. Thanks to that generosity, we were then able to match fund and round up the total to £1,000, creating even more impact in the local community.

Anastasia Days supports young people aged 6-16 who have experienced significant trauma, including illness, abuse or bereavement. The charity was founded by the family of Anastasia Costello, who tragically passed away in December 2021, creating a legacy of joy, hope and happy memories for children who need it most.

Customer donations at the till fund Community Give Back, enabling colleagues to nominate charities in their local communities to receive grants like this.

A huge well done to the JD Market place team for nominating such a meaningful cause and thank you to every customer who donated.

HOW TO APPLY
Please submit an expression of interest to us at [email protected] with the subject ‘JD Foundation Charity Partnership Application - your charity name’. Please ensure this is the exact subject otherwise it may not get picked up by our system.

Please can this be a document that includes:
🟡 Who you are – please tell us in 100 words or fewer who your charity is and your mission and/or vision. Please include your charity number.
🟡What would you like to be funded from this partnership – a brief (500 words max.) of the project that would be funded during the length of our partnership. How you would like us to be involved (if at all!). We issue unrestricted funded as part of our partnerships where requested, to a maximum of 25% of the partnership agreement. We cannot fund capital or projects that have already been completed. We do not need a breakdown of finances at this stage.
🟡What duration of partnership would you be interested in – we have partnerships on 1, 2 or 3-year contracts currently
🟡Have you worked with us before? How did you find out about us? – Are you a current Charity Partner who wants to continue? A charity that has received funding through our Community Give Back Scheme? Or were you a previous charity partner? Please let us know how you found out about us if you haven’t worked with us previously.

FUNDING CRITERIA
🟡 Must be a registered charity in the UK.
🟡 JD Foundation cannot fund work that takes place outside of the UK.
🟡 Charitable work needs to be work that focuses on young people.
🟡 Maximum 25% of funding can be unrestricted.
🟡 Minimum amount that can be applied for is £25,000 per year. The maximum that can be applied for is £75,000 per year.
🟡 Maximum partnership yearly value cannot exceed more than 10% of charity total funding.
🟡 Minimum 3 years of annual reports available on Charity Commission website.

This month offers a moment to reflect on the importance of creating spaces where every young person feels included, supported and empowered.

We’re proud to share the impact we’ve made across 2024/25 in helping to fund inclusive youth charities whose work includes supporting disabled and neurodivergent young people across the UK.

💛 £792,517 donated to inclusive youth charities
🌍 32,775 young people supported
👏 80 colleague-nominated donations

Together, we’re helping create communities where young people of all abilities can achieve their unlimited potential.

Cheshire Oaks are back with a fresh look and to celebrate, they’ve chosen to support local charity, , through their till donations.

We spoke with Cheshire Oaks colleague, Fay, to discover the reasons behind the store’s nomination, 🗣️ ‘I suggested Alder Hey as it’s close to my heart, with them helping lots of people I know. It’s important to me as they saved my little sister’s life when she got ill at just 2 years old.’

Meet Zephy (12) and April (11), two youth members from EMPOWER Youth Zone’s HideOut Youth Zone SYZ, who joined our 10 Year Gala celebrations and lit up the stage in the most unforgettable way.

From backstage rehearsals to a full-room standing applause, their solo performances with Orchestra showed exactly what happens when young people are supported, believed in and given the space to thrive.

Thank you for bringing your passion, confidence and star-worthy talent. These are two performances we will never forget. 👏
