🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Happy Pride Month!! It’s time to be proud!

This Pride month, social media will be full of companies changing their icon to a rainbow and shop shelves will be groaning with the weight of rainbow t-shirts. The good ones will even be donating to LGBTQ+ charities.

But too many LGBTQ+ young people still don’t feel like Pride is for them.
Whether that’s because of unsupportive parents at home, anti-LGBTQ+ bullying at school or hateful headlines, some young people simply don’t feel safe coming out.

That’s where you come in.

This we want to raise £45,000 so that LGBTQ+ young people can continue to have free access to specialist youth work and support services. Our aim is to fund a minimum of 1,500 hours of support, enabling LGBTQ+ young people to thrive and achieve their full potential, because we believe all LGBTQ+ young people deserve to live happy, fulfilling lives.

🎄🎶 Is it too early to mention the festive season? 👀

We don’t think so!

We’re back this December, with our friends in the sector .charity and to celebrate the festive season !

Back for its 3rd year, this annual event is one of our favourites and sells out quickly so be speedy!

Last year, one of our lovely audience members said: “It’s an inclusive event, which is what me and my family are all about. So we’re thrilled to be here, we’re having a great time!”. It’s a space for celebration and inclusion, everyone is welcome.

Orla has been with us at The Proud Trust for over a year and it's been fantastic to see her find her passions and grow in confidence. She said "It was my first Manchester pride and it was so fun to capture the moments and the memories we shared".

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ We had an amazing weekend celebrating Manchester pride!

We had the best time marching alongside our young people and friends across the sector! It was great to see young people be proud of who they are!

We also had lots of fun at our centre ! The young people had a great time experimenting with makeup, kindly donated by and . They also loved dancing and singing along to a range of performances and drag shows by and The House of Queens, Kings & Unholy Things. We were thrilled to welcome and Jack from *xpressionmanchester to discuss inclusive s*x education and from to share advice on how to be a great activist. Highly requested by the young people, held a workshop on mushroom growing and they also designed their own skateboards!

Thank you to all the young people and the adults in their lives for celebrating pride with us, you made it so joyous!

🌈🎨 We're so excited to announce the second artist of our Q***r Art collaboration series!

For Pride in Manchester this month, we've got a stunning design by the talented

Wednesday (they/them) is an illustrator, author and q***r community worker. They create illustrations and animations exploring the magic of existing as a non binary le***an living with AuDHD. Their work is bright, joyful and aims to talk about topics such as THNCI advocacy, Community care, mental health, sobriety and love!

🏳️‍🌈🎨 We are so excited to announce our artist collaboration series! Throughout out the year we will be working with a series of q***r artist to create artwork that showcases Q***r Joy!

And what better month to kick this off but in pride month! This months featured artist is .a.foster ✨

Emily (she/her) an illustrator, maker and content creator based in Norwich, UK. Her work focuses on q***r joy, intersectional diversity and positivity. The aim of her work is to create environments where everyone can recognise themselves authentically through increasing representation and inclusivity.

You can get Emily’s gorgeous artwork on a range of selected merch items available now via the link in our bio! All of the money raised from here will go directly toward our Time To Be Proud Campaign.
