‼️Urgent Donations Needed‼️

What would you eat if all you had to cook was a kettle ? This is the reality for more and more service users coming to us; they have no cooking facilities or often just a kettle.

The good news? The right donations can make a difference. We tailor our food parcels to the individual circumstances of each person.

But our shelves are looking empty at the moment and we urgently need donations which we can give to people who only have a kettle.

📦💛Big Support from Big Yellow Self Storage Company! 💛📦

We want to say a huge thank you to Big Yellow for their ongoing support of Lifeshare.

We only have a small office in the centre of Manchester, we wouldn’t be able to fit all of our donations in there and still have room to work!

Thanks to Big Yellow we’re able to:
🕶️🧢 Store out-of-season donations so nothing goes to waste (you can donate sunglasses in winter and coats in summer!)
🌲☃️ Keep Christmas decorations ready for when our festive season comes around. It wouldn’t feel like Christmas without the tree
📦👟 Hold donations of clothes & shoes that we’ve not sorted yet or don’t fit in our clothes room at the Breakast project. We’ve only got a small clothes store so we make sure we have a wide range of sizes and items there
📋✅ Stay organised so we can respond quickly when people need support.

Storage might not be the most visible part of our work, but we wouldn’t be able to provide the service we do without it. Big Yellow gives us breathing space, structure, and the ability to plan ahead.

Partnerships like this show how local businesses can make a real, practical difference to people facing homelessness in Manchester.

February’s rain and cold weather has been tough for our service users, which is why we are incredibly grateful for our friends at GXO Logistics who’ve donated some warm coats and food for our food bank this month.

Tomorrow (19th February) we’re honoured to be sharing a venue with La Dispute at Manchester Club Academy 🎶

As part of their outreach and commitment to giving back while on tour, they invite local organisations to host a table at their shows and this time, that’s us.

We’ll be there collecting dry and canned food donations, and chatting to you about what we do at Lifeshare and how you can support people experiencing homelessness in Manchester.

A huge thank you to the bands for creating space for community at their gigs.

And we’re especially excited to cheer on our incredible volunteer Maggie, who’ll be performing as part of the support act Pijn 💛

📢 This weekend we need your help to fill our shelves! 🛒💛

As we move through January, many in our city are facing stretched budgets and impossible choices between heating, rent, and putting food on the table. Right now, Lifeshare urgently needs your support to keep helping people who are going hungry in Manchester.

🛒 Can you think of us when you do your weekly shop this weekend?
Non-perishable food items like microwave rice, biscuits, bottled water and other long-life staples make a massive difference to the parcels we give out.

📊 Hard-hitting fact: In the 2024, nearly 3 million emergency food parcels were distributed across the UK (the highest number ever recorded) showing how desperate the need has become.

Every tin, packet and bottle you donate helps someone who might otherwise go without:

✨ A hot snack when it’s freezing cold
✨ Something reliable when income is uncertain
✨ A small reminder that their community cares

📦 Our food bank is running low – can you help?

We’re supporting families and individuals in need, but our shelves are getting emptier. We’re urgently looking for donations of general food items, and especially:
• 🍜 Pot Noodles
• 🍪 Biscuits
• 🥨 Crisps

Wow. What an incredible Christmas Day ⭐️

Today was a powerful reminder of the real value of Christmas – coming together, sharing kindness, and making sure no one feels forgotten.

A truly brilliant day spent with our friends and the most amazing volunteers. From breakfast through to our evening meal, with the Christmas dinner the real star of the show ❤️

✨ Over 500 meals served
🍫 Selection boxes, cakes & chocolates shared
👕 Warm clothes given out
🚿 Hot showers available
✂️ Barber & podiatrist support on site

All helping over 200 guests on this special day.

And it’s not over yet – we’re still open for the rest of the week, continuing to offer warmth, food and support.

Thank you to every volunteer, supporter and partner who made today possible ⭐️
