Community Health Involvement and Empowerment Foundation (CHIEF) is a Black and Minority Ethnic Community-led Social Enterprise in Health and Social Care.. Chief is a grass roots community organisation committed to reducing health inequalities and improving quality of life particularly of minority ethnic communities, asylum-seekers and refugees of all nationalities. We provide quality information,
impartial advice, linguistic and emotional support in relation to people’s health and well-being. We provide users with the tools to make informed decisions and make a lasting difference to their lives. By promoting mainstream healthcare, social care and mental health care services. Chief empowers communities with the knowledge to make better health choices and improve their quality of life. One of our core objectives is to raise awareness of culturally-sensitive health issues to professionals, NHS services and the wider community. We promote equality and inclusion to provide vital support, save lives and enable better health for the most vulnerable. Our core social aim is to enable BAME communities in England and Wales to play a bigger role in multi-cultural society by promoting opportunities that allow members to use their own strengths and resources to empower themselves build capacity in terms of skills and knowledge to enhance their employability and improve their lives for the better. Chief is committed to the promotion of equality, community cohesion and social inclusion to build healthier and happier communities. We share good practice and learning through community development and interaction with other groups locally, we engage with organisations such as Black Health Agency, Public Health, England, Manchester CCG etc..
