Our office at New Square, Chesterfield, will close on 3 October 2026. The building's landlord has gone into administration, which means we're no longer able to use the space. It's not news we wanted to share, and we're sorry for any disruption it causes.

The good news is we're not going anywhere. We're still here for people in Chesterfield and right across Derbyshire.

If you're currently having counselling or using another TLC service, your point of contact will be in touch to let you know how and where your appointments will carry on. You don't need to do anything in the meantime.

If you'd like to find out more about what we do, or you're interested in working with us, visit talklistenchange.org.uk or give us a call on 0303 003 1005.

Our statement as the first prisoners eligible for the Early Release Scheme are released

Michelle Hill, Chief Executive-
‘We are deeply disappointed that perpetrators of domestic abuse were among the first 700 prisoners released yesterday under the Early Release Scheme to tackle the prison crisis. With thousands more to be released over the next few months, this will be an extremely difficult and fearful time for many victim-survivors and families across the country.
TLC’s domestic abuse work is first and foremostly for victim-survivors and their children, preventing abuse and making relationships safer. We know how hard victim-survivors must fight to secure a conviction and it is unacceptable that this scheme is undoing this hard work and placing them at risk again.
We stand with all those negatively affected by the Early Release Scheme and will continue to fight to keep victim-survivors safe and end domestic abuse for good.’

We welcome the additional £14 million of funding announced by the government on Monday (21 September) to tackle violence against women and girls (VAWG).

The £10 million Prevention Accelerator fund will help scale up promising local projects that prevent violence and abuse before it happens, while a further £4 million will fund research and evaluation across schools tackling teenage relationship harms, police forces addressing online abuse, and communities working to make public spaces safer. We're pleased to see government investment matching what we already know from our own work: that prevention and early intervention are where lasting change starts.

Last year, TLC designed and delivered two pilot projects in Greater Manchester tackling gender-based violence and abuse in schools, giving us real, first-hand evidence of how early intervention can help young people challenge misogyny and harmful gender norms and build healthy relationships.

We're keen to build on this work, and we hope funding like this continues to reach organisations doing it on the ground, so that early intervention remains a lasting government priority, not a one-off investment.

A pilot scheme launched to tackle Violence Against Women and Girls, giving young people the tools to be 'active bystanders'.

Our statement on PAPYRUS entering administration

This news is hard to take in. PAPYRUS spent almost 30 years building something young people and their families could trust with the hardest moments of their lives, and knowing that's gone is a real loss.

If you or someone you know needs support now, that support still exists: Samaritans (116 123), Shout (text 85258), YoungMinds and CALM.

At TLC, we'll keep showing up for the relationships that carry people through moments like this.
