Incredible Edible Manchester

Incredible Edible Manchester We transform derelict areas of land into edible plots, growing vegetables, fruit and herbs.

We're the Manchester chapter of Incredible Edible, a network of organisations who work to make use of unused urban areas to grow sustainable food for the whole community. The local community and students are free to pick whatever they like! This helps promote the ideals of local, sustainable food that is good for you. Student volunteers have helped this cause on many sites around South Manchester,

and we need sustained support so that the edible plots continue to successfully grow crops for all to eat. Our volunteers mainly help us to take care of the plots (weeding, watering, sometimes some DIY!); plant and tend to fruit and veg; and help to spread the word and get other members of the community involved. We welcome anyone no matter how much or little experience you have - we're all learning as we go! If you have any ideas to help our project grow and develop we'd love to hear them. We also hope to host talks on environmental justice/sustainability topics. Volunteering with Incredible Edible is a great opportunity to meet new people, give something back to the community, and learn about how to grow your own food sustainably and locally!

Want to get more involved next year? We’re looking for passionate, proactive people to join the committee and help shape the future of Incredible Edible.

Whether you’re interested in leadership, events, communications, outreach, or supporting the society behind the scenes, this is a great chance to make an impact, build new skills, and be part of something meaningful.

If you’re unsure about a role or have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me or anyone on the committee.

We need to finalise next year’s committee by 27 April, so please express your interest as soon as possible.
