Established in 2008, the Manchester Annual Choral Competition (MACC) is an annual competition in which choirs from across the UK and overseas are invited to compete in a spirit of creativity and community.

Some great news - last year's MACC winners, Cottontown Chorus will perform at Chester Cathedral on Thursday 23rd October. All proceeds will go to Sands, a fabulous charity that helps families who have sadly suffered the death of a baby. It’s going to be a wonderful evening in aid of a wonderful cause.

Their recent performances include Bournemouth, Harrogate, High Wycombe and even Killarney but, despite being based in Bolton, they don't often sing in the north west. But this week the opportunity is finally HERE!

On 23rd October, they are going to be bringing their best songs, personal favourites, and some brand new songs, that bring out the very best in the venue, to Chester Cathedral. This is probably the best acoustic venue the chorus has ever sung in and currently the chorus is singing better than ever. That means it's going to be spectacular!

Another great Manchester choral event! Be part of this very special choral celebration showcasing performances from ten of the UK and Ireland’s small q***r choirs and featuring a rare UK appearance from our Ukrainian friends, Q***r Essence. Pipe Up comprises two concerts in the late afternoon (16:00) and evening (19:30) of Saturday 1 November at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

A ticket covers both concerts (which are BSL interpreted) and also a vocal workshop (15:00) delivered by Manchester’s very own four-piece a ca****la group, the Lovenotes.

Pipe Up is a unique opportunity for singers and audiences to come together to celebrate music, visibility and community.
