Last night we hosted another Origins short film night…this one was extra special though! 🏆

We had the pleasure of viewing a selection of short animated films from the ‘Drawn from Life’ collection, a series of animated short films from real memory, real lives and real feelings 🫶

What made last night extra special was the screening of BAFTA-winning ‘Two Black Boys in Paradise’ an incredible piece. Followed by a Q&A with director and producer - they even brought their BAFTA!

Thank you to everyone who came down and supported, and to the amazing filmmakers for making it such a memorable evening. We can’t wait for the next one 🎬

Workspace (R)evolved

During the start of 2026 we’ve been making some incredible progress on our brand new venue... COLONY King Street.

Colony King Street will introduce a new flagship workspace designed to support businesses of all sizes, alongside a range of creative production facilities and community-focused spaces

We’ve watched the venue come to life over the past few months. Each colour and material used within the space was hand picked by our product design team, with our members at the forefront of the entire process.

On launch day the venue will feature a large co-working floor offering day passes, floating desks and dedicated desks, alongside a social kitchen and breakout lounge designed to encourage connection and collaboration between members.

We’re excited to be able to reveal the first images of our brand new venue COLONY King Street 🙌

The 44,000 sq ft venue will feature a large co-working floor offering day passes, floating desks and dedicated desks, alongside a social kitchen and breakout lounge.

The floor will also include four meeting and conference rooms, with the largest designed to flex into an 80-person event space complete with stage, creating a new central hub for talks, workshops and community gatherings.

Across the upper floors, COLONY King Street will offer a range of private offices designed for teams of four to more than 100 people, providing scalable workspace for growing companies in the city centre. Members will also benefit from a rooftop terrace and breakout area overlooking Manchester’s historic King Street.

Aaron Ezair, our director and founder of COLONY, said: "King Street represents far more than a new workspace for COLONY - it signals the next evolution of how people create, collaborate and build businesses in Manchester.”

COLONY King Street will become our 8th venue in the City and our second venue within Manchester's thriving central retail district.
