On 5 July, FODIP attended the Young Gamechangers Fund Celebration Event 2026 at Chester Zoo. Our Development Officer and one of our alumni, who is currently leading our youth-led Breaking Barriers: Creating conversation programme,had the opportunity to join this wonderful celebration event, engaging with fellow grantees and a brilliant group of young people leading incredible initiatives.

The goal of the event was to celebrate achievements, connect with others from across the Young Gamechangers Fund programme, share learning, reflect on the journey, and have some fun.

Huge thanks to the steering group and the staff teams at the Global Fund for Children, Coop and Restless Development for making the fund and this event possible for all of us.

The Youth Peace Summit 2026 in The Hague closed with the presentation of the YPS 2026 Charter to policymakers and decision-makers, including Jurriaan Middelhoff, Ambassador for Youth at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a speech from Lars Westra, EU Youth Delegate to the United Nations for the 2025–2026 session.

During the summit’s final session in the Atrium, several participants and mentors were invited to share closing reflections; among them, one of our FODIP alumnus and leader of the Breaking Barriers: Creating Conversations programme, who addressed the 150 YPS attendees with a powerful speech about the power of youth, hope, and a future where peace is possible.

We also heard from Annet Weijermars, Assistant Governor of Rotary D1600 and lead fundraiser, and Gordon Graham, from Rotary Metropolitan The Hague and project advisor.
