Bulky Bob’s Oldham

Bulky Bob’s delivers the bulky household waste collection service in partnership with Oldham Council. Bulky Bob’s was created by Furniture Resource Centre, (FRC) a charity formed in 1988 to help families by redistributing unwanted, good quality furniture to those in need and to help long-term unemployed people back into work. Bulky Bob’s has donated furniture to people living in crisis for over 25 years and we have a shop in our Oldham warehouse which sells pre-loved furniture at low prices, aimed at low-income families, and offers discounts for customers in receipt of benefits. We continue to give away furniture free of charge and we have links with a number of referral agencies to refer their clients to us. Annually the demand for free furniture packages has increased, because our service has become established, and because of the tough economic climate of recent years. We train local people through Driving Change, our award-winning year long paid training programme which helps people to gain valuable work experience as well as training and support to get a range of warehouse and logistics qualifications.
