One World Together

One World Together For Change, Not Charity. One World Together supports communities across the globe by providing long-term funding that they can spend how they want.

Be Part of the New 1%

One World Together provides long-term, unrestricted funding to community organisations around world, enabling them spend the funds how they want & when they want to invest in their future. We help build strong organisations that can invest in their future development and respond quickly to challenges as they arise. One World Together was born out of frustration with existing

systems of charitable giving. Despite the generosity of the UK public – who give £2 billion a year to development NGOs – most of this goes to the biggest charities, which are expensive to operate and operate through unequal partnerships. You can read more about that here. This means that whether you are a small organisation working with communities in the UK or globally, it is incredibly hard to access the best form of funding that builds your organisational strength, stability and sustainability. The case for long-term, predictable and unrestricted funding has never been clearer. Charities are trying to do better, but they’re working within deeply ingrained systems that are hard to change. So we thought we’d design a new system, free of these costs and inequalities that accompany traditional forms of giving. One World Together was born to answer a simple question:

How can we get a greater volume of long-term and unrestricted funding to brilliant local organisations in the UK and globally?

Hello there! Whether you’ve just found us or have been part of this journey for some time, this is the core of One World Together.

83p of every £1 you give flows directly to community-led organisations.
For us, that number matters because of what it makes possible.
When funding is long-term and unrestricted, our partners aren’t working around someone else’s timeline or priorities. They can respond to what’s actually needed, when it’s needed, and invest in the kind of change that lasts.
They’ve told us that in those conditions, each £1 can deliver up to five times the impact of restricted funding.
And when that kind of flexibility sits alongside a model that sends more directly to communities in the first place, the difference compounds - with each £1 having the potential to create up to 40 times the community impact of traditional systems.

This is what shifts when trust is built into how funding flows.

That is the model. And that is the movement.

A glimpse of some of the amazing work your support helps make possible ✨

In Kenya, young people from Muungano wa Wanavijiji’s Youth Federation are stepping into roles as researchers, storytellers, and leaders - from mapping their communities to hosting conversations and shaping how their stories are told.
Through One World Together's Solidarity Fund, this work has been supported in ways that are flexible, responsive, and led by the priorities of the community itself.

✨Stories for Change ✨

Many a time, it is the ability to act at the right time that makes the difference.

As the Social Homes for Manchester Commission was about to begin, our partner Savers did not yet have the traditional funding needed to get their work off the ground.
Fortunately, the unrestricted and flexible funding made available through One World Together's Solidarity Fund helped initiate the work at that critical moment. Alongside support from partner organisations, this made it possible to bring in a research associate and produce a “state of play” paper on Manchester’s housing crisis.
Without this flexibility, the work would have stalled before it began.
This is what timely, trust-based support can make possible.
