One World Together

One World Together For Change, Not Charity. One World Together supports communities across the globe by providing long-term funding that they can spend how they want.

One World Together provides long-term, unrestricted funding to community organisations around world, enabling them spend the funds how they want & when they want to invest in their future. We help build strong organisations that can invest in their future development and respond quickly to challenges as they arise. One World Together was born out of frustration with existing

systems of charitable giving. Despite the generosity of the UK public – who give £2 billion a year to development NGOs – most of this goes to the biggest charities, which are expensive to operate and operate through unequal partnerships. You can read more about that here. This means that whether you are a small organisation working with communities in the UK or globally, it is incredibly hard to access the best form of funding that builds your organisational strength, stability and sustainability. The case for long-term, predictable and unrestricted funding has never been clearer. Charities are trying to do better, but they’re working within deeply ingrained systems that are hard to change. So we thought we’d design a new system, free of these costs and inequalities that accompany traditional forms of giving. One World Together was born to answer a simple question:

How can we get a greater volume of long-term and unrestricted funding to brilliant local organisations in the UK and globally?

We've just made our latest Solidarity Fund payment!
Together, our growing community of global citizens has managed to channel nearly £22,000 in completely flexible funding directly to our grassroots partners!!!

Funding like this gives community organisations the space to respond to real needs in real time- with their own knowledge, judgement, and priorities leading the way.

Thank you to everyone helping us build a different way of giving! 🫶✨

Day 3 of our Community Building Summit in Nairobi gave us the most beautiful ending.
At Seed of Hope Kenya, we spent the day seeing what happens when possibility is met with real, practical support.

We met students learning, training, dreaming and building futures of their own. There was so much care wrapped around them by the Seed of Hope team, which keeps young people in the classroom, , learn and thrive. Through the Solidarity Fund, they can provide counselling, meals, menstrual health support and childcare vouchers: the quiet, essential things that often decide whether a young person can keep going.

And the impact is extraordinary: 98% of their students complete their courses, compared with a national average of 68%.

We ended the day in a reflection circle, sharing what these three days had meant, what we were taking with us, and what comes next.
And then, naturally, a BIG group hug. 🫶

Our three days in Nairobi reminded us that solidarity is not distant. It is practical, personal, joyful, and built through relationships.

Thank you to our partners, our supporters, the University of Manchester, and Kasandi Jarvis for the wonderful pictures. You made this summit one we will carry with us for a long time !✨

Day 2 of our Community Building Summit in Nairobi was very special in helping us think about how this community grows from here.

We began with one of the questions we encounter most often: as our Solidarity Fund grows, how do we welcome new partners in a way that stays open, inclusive and rooted in trust?

Our partners helped us think through this with so much wisdom. They spoke about shared values, local leadership, advocacy, intergenerational work, and the importance of supporting organisations that are deeply rooted in the communities they serve.

One reflection captured it perfectly: future partners should get to know us too, and know that they want to be part of this community!

Later, we took these conversations outdoors as we visited the Kiamoko ward, where we saw what that kind of rooted work looks like in practice. New drainage systems, safer pathways, and a Resilience Hub supporting communities to prepare for flooding. With all this amazing infrastructure, what was even more inspiring was the bigger story of community organising behind it. The conversations, negotiations, planning, patience and collective ownership that made this change possible.

Day 2 left us feeling energised and very grateful ✨

We came, we dreamed, we created!! ✨

On day 1 of our Community Building Summit in Nairobi, we began with the joy of finally being together in one room 🥰

At SDI Kenya, we spent the day looking back at the journey One World Together has been building with our partners over the past three years. We shared stories, learned from one another, celebrated what this community has already made possible, and imagined what could grow when more people come together around giving for change, not charity.

One of the most beautiful parts of the day was creating art together. Across our organisations, we turned our hopes for the future into colour, shape and story. A future rooted in solidarity. A future led by communities. A future that feels a little more possible when it is dreamed up together.

This is what community-building looked like on Day 1: hands busy, hearts open, ideas flowing, and so much care in the room.

Deepest thanks to The University of Manchester, and especially Laura Breen, for making this Summit possible, and to Kasandi Jarvis for capturing the joy of the day so beautifully. 🫶

Not bad for small change, right?
Since launching, One World Together has channelled £19,611 in flexible funding to our four community partners, with quarterly Solidarity Fund payments growing by 186%.

That’s nearly triple the amount moving through the Solidarity Fund in just three years!!

And the best part? This is powered by everyday giving, starting from as little as £1.25 a month.
Small gifts, pooled together, passed on with trust, and growing into long-term community power.
