๐ŸŒฑ Weโ€™re incredibly excited to announce that Colwall Youth Project has been awarded ยฃ20,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund through the Awards for All Environmental programme to launch our new project, "Growing Futures"!

This exciting new initiative will give young people opportunities to get involved in environmental activities, food growing, conservation work, outdoor learning, and community projects in partnership with all while building confidence, improving wellbeing, and developing practical life skills. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’š

The funding will support a dedicated Environmental Youth Worker and help us create regular sessions and community activities focused on sustainability, connection, and positive change.
Growing Futures is about much more than environmental work, itโ€™s about empowering young people, strengthening community relationships, and creating a greener, healthier future for everyone. ๐ŸŒ

A huge thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund and to National Lottery players for making projects like this possible. Your support will make a lasting difference to young people and our community. ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐ŸŽ‰ BIG NEWS FOR OUR COMMUNITY ๐ŸŽ‰

Colwall Youth Project is delighted to announce that we have been awarded ยฃ363,218 from The National Lottery Community Fund over the next three years to deliver our new project:

๐Ÿ’› LET US SING ๐Ÿ’›

Thanks to National Lottery players, this funding will help us provide vital youth work across rural communities in Herefordshire and the Malvern Hills, creating safe spaces, trusted relationships, and life changing opportunities for young people.

Through Let Us Sing, CYP will deliver:

โœจ Open access youth groups
โœจ Mental health and wellbeing support
โœจ SPARC Club for LGBTQ+ and marginalised young people
โœจ Skills for Life mentoring and employability support
โœจ Rural outreach through our Empowerment Roadshow
โœจ One-to-one support for young people in crisis
โœจ Youth leadership and volunteering opportunities

This investment means young people across our rural location will have greater access to inclusive, youth-led support where services are often limited or difficult to reach.

Over the next three years, we will continue building stronger communities where young people feel heard, empowered, safe, and able to thrive.

A huge THANK YOU to players for making this possible. ๐Ÿ’™

We are delighted to announce that Colwall Youth Project has been awarded two significant grants from The Eveson Trust amounting to ยฃ162,000.

The Eveson Trust has been a long-standing supporter of CYP, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued belief in our work and investment in the young people of our community. Their generosity and partnership continue to make a lasting difference.

The first grant of ยฃ12,000 will fund the first yearโ€™s rent at Station Yard, our new home, and an exciting new chapter for CYP. This support provides a secure and welcoming base from which we can continue to grow our services and create opportunities for local young people.

In addition, we are thrilled to have received a multi-year award of ยฃ150,000 to support the employment of a dedicated mental health youth worker, alongside vital sustainability costs over the next three years. This funding will strengthen our ability to provide consistent, high-quality support to young people, particularly at a time when access to mental health services and safe community spaces has never been more important.

Together, these grants represent a major investment in the future of Colwall Youth Project and will go a long way in helping us continue to support, empower and inspire young people across our community.

Thank you, Eveson Trust, for your ongoing support and commitment to CYP.

๐ŸŒฑ Skills4Life โ€“ Bringing the Allotment Back to Life ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’›

Over the last couple of weeks, our Skills4Life group have been hard at work bringing our allotment back to life. From rotavating, weeding and clearing debris, all the way to growing plants in pots and planting our very first rhubarb, young people have been getting stuck into every part of the process.

It is about so much more than gardening. It is about spending time in nature, learning practical skills, understanding where food comes from, and exploring how we can better care for the environment around us.

On our walks down to the Colwall Orchard Group, we have also enjoyed spotting the lambs, listening to the birds, and simply enjoying each otherโ€™s company in nature. Those quiet moments of connection are just as important as the practical work itself.

There is something powerful about watching young people grow confidence while growing something with their own hands. Slowly, this little space is becoming somewhere full of life, learning and community ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŽก Empowerment Roadshow โ€“ May Fair ๐ŸŽก๐Ÿ’›

Would we really be a Herefordshire youth project if we didnโ€™t make a trip to the Hereford May Fair?

This week was all about fun, connection and shared experience, exploring a fair that has been part of Hereford for over 900 years. We even managed to sneak in a bit of history, learning how it originally helped fund the building of Hereford Cathedral.

But more than anything, this trip was about helping young people feel safe and confident in busy environments. Learning how to navigate crowds, talk to new people, and enjoy the atmosphere together.

And of course, it would not be the May Fair without a few rides, plenty of laughter and young people just enjoying being together.

A brilliant evening of culture, confidence and community ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ’› SPARC Club โ€“ Conversation Night ๐Ÿ’›

This week at SPARC Club was all about understanding who you are.

We explored what it means to be introverted or extroverted, how to recognise where you fit, and just as importantly, how to understand others. Why some people need more space, why some thrive in conversation, and how we learn to respect those differences.

A big part of the evening was also looking at equality and equity. Understanding that treating everyone the same is not always fair, and that sometimes people need different things to feel supported and included.

It was powerful to see those moments where it just clicked. Young people recognising themselves, understanding others, and having honest conversations about it all.

That is what SPARC Club is about. Starting conversations, building understanding, and being true to who we are ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŒ Empowerment Roadshow โ€“ Exploring Culture โœจ

Our trip to London was about far more than where we went. It was about what young people experienced and how it shaped them.

For many, this was their first time in the capital. First time navigating a city that moves fast, feels overwhelming, and is full of difference. Different cultures, languages, people and perspectives, all in one place. And instead of stepping back, they stepped into it.

They learned how to move through that space, how to manage their emotions when it felt busy or unfamiliar, and how to support each other through it. Confidence grew with every step, every tube journey, every decision they made together.

Moments like this change how young people see the world, but more importantly, how they see themselves within it. They begin to realise they belong in these spaces, that they can navigate them, and that the world is bigger and more accessible than they once thought.

This is the power of cultural experiences. It builds understanding, resilience and identity. It opens doors, not just physically, but mentally.

This is youth work in action ๐Ÿ’›
