🎱‼️ CAN YOU HELP US? ‼️🎱

Our much-loved pool table has certainly seen better days! After years of being at the heart of Colwall Youth Project, it's now being held together by zip ties, good vibes and sheer determination. Sadly, we don't think it has much life left in it!

But to us, it's so much more than just a pool table. It's a place where friendships are formed, confidence grows and some of our most meaningful conversations happen. Sometimes, a simple game of pool is all it takes for a young person to open up.

We're reaching out to our wonderful community in the hope that someone might be able to donate or sponsor a new (or good-condition) pool table.

As a small, independent charity, support like this makes a real difference. It's not just about replacing a piece of equipment, it's about protecting a space that means so much to our young people. 🩵

Get cosy for our Halloween movie night, with buffet food, mini games and a watch party!

Join us at Station Yard, Unit 10 for pumpkin painting, music bingo, a Halloween-themed buffet and a costume competition! 🧙‍♀️

🎨 Making Our New Youth Centre a Home 🩵

Our new youth centre is still very much a work in progress. We do not even have all the walls yet! But that has not stopped our young people from starting to make it their own.

Young people have been getting creative, making artwork to decorate the building and putting their own stamp on the space. It is about more than making the walls look good. It is about taking ownership, expressing themselves and helping shape the place they call their youth centre.

Even in an unfinished building, they are already turning it into a home for their community. A space shaped by young people, filled with their creativity and built around the people who use it. ☺️

🏠 We are delighted to have moved! 🩵

Colwall Youth Project is now based at our new youth centre at Unit 10, Station Yard, Colwall.

After six years of growing within Colwall Community Church, we made the decision as a charity that it was time for CYP to move into a dedicated space of its own. We are incredibly grateful to the church, our founding organisation, for giving us the space, trust and support that allowed us to grow.

Our young people now have a place to call their own, where they can spend time together, hang their artwork, play music and talk openly about how they feel. 🩵

Thank you to The Eveson Trust and The National Lottery Community Fund for believing in our vision. Most of all, thank you to our community, which raised an incredible £11,000 to help make this move possible. Thank you also to Colwall Orchard Group for loaning us a pickup truck and trailer. 🚜✨

Our young people carried furniture, painted walls and helped shape the building around their needs. We did not close for a single day during the move because they helped make it happen.

The building is still a work in progress. Our website has details of the items and services we need to help complete it, as well as our Amazon Wishlist. Financial donations are also very welcome and will support the next stage of the building’s development.

🎪 Once Upon a Time There Was a Youth Centre That Gave Us Hope 💛

That was the message our young people chose for this year’s Ledbury Carnival, interpreting the Once Upon a Time theme in a way that told their own story.

Last week, CYP was proud to take part in Ledbury’s annual carnival, and it was brilliant to see our young people getting involved in creating our entry, alongside members of the community donating their time and resources to help make it happen.

Their idea highlighted the lack of youth provision across rural Herefordshire, while celebrating how grateful they are to have a youth centre in Colwall that young people from Ledbury and the surrounding area can access.

As one of the youth services supporting young people across Ledbury, it is really important that we are part of days like this and that young people have a visible place and a voice within their community.

A huge thank you to Colwall Orchard Group for lending us their pickup truck and trailer, and to the Ledbury Carnival Committee for inviting us to be part of such a fantastic community event.

A carnival float with a pretty important message behind it. Young people need places to belong, communities to be part of, and spaces where they know they are welcome. 💛

🏖️ Our Final Roadshow XL of the Summer 💛🌊

What a way to finish! Our final Roadshow XL took us to Rest Bay Beach for an amazing day of swimming, rounders, football, exploring the rock pools and finding plenty of crabs. 🦀

And of course, in true CYP style, we stopped to share lunch together on the beach as one big community.

What we have loved most about Roadshow XL this summer is seeing young people from across our age ranges come together. New friendships have formed, older and younger members have supported each other, and young people have created their own sense of community and safety.

That peer support does not disappear when the trip ends. The connections young people build continue long after we close for the day.

A summer of new experiences, laughter, confidence and community. What a lovely way to finish Roadshow XL for 2026 💛

🌊 Roadshow XL at Cliff Lakes 💛

Another brilliant Roadshow XL trip, this time to Cliff Lakes Water Park for a day on the water.

It was wonderful to see young people pushing themselves, trying things that scared them and encouraging each other to give things a go. There was plenty of fun in the water, time with friends, and a lot of laughter along the way.

But these trips are also about connection. Watching our little community come together, support each other and simply enjoy the summer together is exactly why Roadshow XL matters.

Trying something new. Facing a few fears. Building confidence. And having a brilliant time doing it. 💛

🎢 Roadshow XL at Drayton Manor 💛

What an amazing day we had with so many of our young people at Drayton Manor.

For some, it was their first ever theme park ride. For others, it was the first time they had travelled further than Worcester. But for everyone, it was a day to have fun, try something new and grow together as a community.

We had weekly regulars, new faces, and even young people returning to CYP after several years. Seeing everyone mix, look out for each other and share the experience together is exactly what Roadshow XL is about.

New experiences, growing confidence and a lot of laughter. A pretty special day out for our very special community 💛

💛 Roadshow XL 🤸✨

Our first Roadshow XL of the summer was a huge success. We took a fantastic group of young people to AirHop, where there was plenty of bouncing, laughter and fun.

Roadshow XL is all about giving young people the chance to try new experiences, build friendships, grow in confidence and make memories together over the summer holidays.
