We're pleased to see our Essex Violence and Vulnerability Unit -funded CGI listed on page 2 of ECVYS - Essex Council for Voluntary Youth Services latest Listening Report.

The report highlights the views and experiences of young people across Essex helping to ensure their voices are heard and reflected in future support and opportunities.

Our Project Officer, Jason Baker, who also serves as Youth Resource Networker, has been supporting local young people to share their views and contribute to this important work.

Youth Voice Listening Project 2025-26
Over 5700 Young People across Southend, Essex and Thurrock told us about how safe they feel in their communities and what could help them feel safer. This is the seventh year that the Essex Violence and Vulnerability Unit has run a Listening Project.

The Community Gaming Initiative (CGI) brings young people together through a shared love of gaming, creating a safe, welcoming space where they can socialise, build friendships, develop confidence and feel part of a community. The project was created to engage young people whose primary interest is gaming and provide opportunities to connect with like-minded people in a positive environment.

Whether you're teaming up on a challenge, learning new skills, or simply hanging out with friends, CGI is a place where everyone is welcome.
