We had a fantastic Shoresearch survey at the start of the month with a small but mighty team of 6. The pouring rain stopped just in time for a dry afternoon out on the rocks at South Milton.

We found over 60 different species and one species we couldn’t identify (see pictures). Suggestions welcome for the last photo.

If you would like to join us for one of our future surveys, visit https://bit.ly/SouthMiltonShoreSearch for more details and to book your spot.

We had such a brilliant time on Monday designing and painting one of our dragonflies alongside our fantastic National Trust and Wembury Marine Centre volunteers.

You’ll be able to spot this dragonfly — and many more — when the Dragonfly Art Trail launches at the end of March in Mill Meadow, Wembury Beach, just in time for the Easter holidays. We’re delighted to be partnering with Life on the Edge, SDNL’s Heritage Lottery–funded project, to bring this creative trail to life.

Keep an eye out for updates as we get closer to unveiling the trail. The trail aims to highlight our work to improve local water quality and to share simple, everyday actions we can all take to help protect the health of our rivers and seas.

Did you think the rugged coastline in the first episode of The Witcher season 4 looked familiar? That’s because it is…

The scene featuring The Witcher and Vilgefortz was filmed at Soar Mill Cove.

Filming like this generates vital income and helps us continue to protect and care for special places, like Soar Mill Cove, for future generations. We’re thrilled to see our coastline on screen 🎬
