HELO - HEY! To all our poets and artists📣📣📣
Our poetry and art weekend in Fron ‘Under The Aquaduct’ made it into the Desire Lines podcast!

Relive some magic from that weekend in song and poems, and hear from partners The Dee Trust / Cynefin Dyfrdwy, Natasha Borton, ETA CIC.

Desire Lines is a podcast series curated by our own Emily Wilkinson! We are also very grateful for Emma-Jaynes Holmes for inspiring drawing, and artistic responses to the river, all weekend long.

Our donations helped raise over £18k for practical river conservation in the catchment in just one week. You can hear the love in the podcast. I hope you will enjoy ♥️ 🌊♥️

Some photos and drawings of our wonderful art and poetry weekend Under The Aquaduct, one whole week ago now, in Froncysyllte, North Wales!

Thanks to the over 100 people! — locals, musicians, artists, poets, friends, families, researchers, scientists, walkers, canoeists who bounced in off the car park, and to Fron Community Centre itself. Thanks to Vivace choir from Llanfyllin who travelled to sing us in. Thanks to Jenny Wilde Parks who river-watered us with harp and flute music! Special thanks to Emma-Jayne Holmes for her amazing art and sketches, Emily Wilkinson who curated and Poet-in-Residence Natasha Borton who hosted our poetry event beautifully. Thanks to The Dee Trust / Cynefin Dyfrdwy for all the work & graft they do to care for the Dee.
It was very inspiring and emotional and gratifying and supportive, and it was on the Dee!
We did it 💗👍🌠 ‘there was a flow’ and
WE ROCKED JUST A BIT!

Happy May Day!
No better time of year to be on Guernsey, at the beginning of summer and when communities get ready for Liberation Day celebrations. 🎉
ETA is here to research the ‘Ruette Tranquilles’ network, instigated in Castel in the 1990s by Micky Fooks and a band of walking enthusiasts, the parish councils, and the tourism board. Now managed by Highways, these routes prioritise walking, cycling and horseback riding on Guernsey, and you don’t need a car to explore the island. You can walk to your destination using the app or a map— catch a bus to go back if you like. Motorists drive slowly and considerately as bikes and walkers are en-route.

Micky himself showed me his island today!
An honour.
Inspiration for our part of Wales?

ETA CIC is happy to confirm that the Welsh Dee Trust will be giving a talk at 11am on Saturday 25th! Come along to learn about their work and how you can get involved in caring for the precious Afon Dyfrdwy. Our poetry event on Sunday 26th is coming together too, and we are pleased to announce we'll be joined by Llanfyllin's Vivace choir who will be serenading us with river-themed song :)

We are pleased to be supported by Llenyddiaeth Cymru / Literature Wales, and to join forces with Llangollen Spoken Word.
