Llusernau Bro Ddyfi Lanterns Gorymdaith Llusernau Bro Ddyfi Lantern Procession is making a return on Saturday 31 October 2026 in Machynlleth and across the Valley See you there!

Welcome to the page about Machynlleth Lantern Procession. We area a voluntary community group (Magical Machynlleth) who facilitate an amazingly magical, community led, illuminated procession down Machynlleth high street every autumn. The procession is usually on a Friday starting at 7pm from Caffi Alys. Down the high street and onto the football field where there is a little ceremony for choosing the most spectacular lanterns, this is followed by an awesome fireworks display (with an excellent reputation as being the best in the area).

Machynlleth's popular lantern parade will return later this year, with a new committee. See full story in comments.

Well what can we say… despite the soggy start, everyone really stepped up: we had a wonderful event and it totally went out with a bang! 💥

🙏🏽Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who turned up, attended a workshop, brought a lantern, watched, donated, volunteered. Thank you to the crew who worked tirelessly to make it all happen, to the Gwesty Wynnstay for hosting us and providing delicious hot soup to the cold volunteers… also thanks to Samba Dyfi for leading the procession.

🎩Mostly a big thanks to Zoe who is hanging up her top hat and hi-vis for good. We are excited to see what gets dreamt up by a new, emerging committee in the future. Watch this space.

We are currently counting up the (very soggy!!) money and look forward to updating you soon on our fundraising efforts.

Here are some pics of the gorgeous event, but please share below your own pictures so we can all see your favourite lanterns!

Diolch yn fawr bawb it was such a joy and a pleasure 🙏🏽
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🩷
