Well, Christmas is a while ago now but we need to say ‘thank you’ to lots of local people and businesses for their support over the festive period. We gave Christmas hampers with a full Christmas lunch and lots of festive goodies to households across the village.

We would like to thank …

Lime Wood who surprised us with a fantastic donation of £500 raised from the sale of raffle tickets and a top up from the MD. We so enjoyed collecting their donation on the morning of our huge Christmas shopping trip so the lovely people at Lime Wood could see what their generosity was helping to fund. 🎉

Fells Gulliver and Hoburne Developments for a luxury hamper. 🎉

A wonderful local resident, and former caterer, who made the most amazing Christmas cakes and festive cup cakes. 🎉

Residents who donated toys and money to help make Christmas special. 🎉

Residents who donate every month … we are so grateful! 🎉

Co-Op on the High Street for hosting our collection point … we will miss you and are so grateful for your support for the last six years. 🎉😢

Tesco for your ongoing support and donations. 🎉

Lidl in Totton and Sholing, especially April and Leanne, who organise our big Christmas shopping trip, box it up and put everything on a pallet for us to collect. 🎉

Lyndhurst Community Centre for hosting us, especially caretakers Dave, Ian and Dave the Hat who help carry supplies in, make us tea and are always on hand to help. 🎉

This really is a community effort and it makes such a difference to many people’s lives. Thanks to everyone who has supported us. 🥰

A busy day at the Food Bank saw our Christmas hampers packed and delivered around the village. We had lots of donations from local residents and businesses which meant we could provide a full Christmas lunch with turkey, gammon, pigs in blankets, fresh vegetables and all the trimmings plus a box full of family favourites including mince pies, Christmas puds, Christmas cake, biscuits, chocolates, crisps, savouries, cheese, crackers and chutney. The hampers were met with massive smiles and a few happy tears. Thank you to everyone who donated! 🥰

NOMINATE SOMEONE SPECIAL TO RECEIVE A GOODY BAG

To mark the Food Bank’s 1000th delivery and celebrate Lyndhurst’s renowned community spirit, we would like to invite you to nominate a Lyndhurst-based friend, neighbour or family member who, for whatever reason, deserves a little extra Christmas cheer this festive season.

The Food Bank will make up and deliver 10 special Christmas goody bags containing a selection of festive treats, as a way to say thank you to Lyndhurst residents and businesses who have supported the Food Bank over the last 4 ½ years and made it possible to get to the 1000th delivery milestone.

• they are just having a tough time
• Christmas is a difficult time for them

The reason you give is confidential but enables us to be sensitive when we deliver the goody bag. Your name can be attached to the goody bag if you wish, or you may prefer to be anonymous, please state in your nomination.
