Friends of St Mary's FOSM FOSM develops effective relationships between school & the local community in supporting education. Friends of St.

Mary's Derrytrasna was founded in 2016 as a Parent Teacher Association designed to enhance the learning delivered to our children at our local, rural primary school. Seven years on and the Association continues to assist the Principal and teaching staff in the school to deliver a varied and comprehensive key stage 1 and 2 curriculum, while also supporting extra curricular activities and facilities

to enhance learning. The purpose of Friends of St Mary’s is to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school and engaging in activities or providing facilities of equipment which support the school and advance the education of pupils. FOSM is keen to welcome all new parents on board, be this as a fully fledged Committee member or as a parent interested in supporting and assisting in the work done by the Association. We were delighted to see this special visit to St. Mary’s Derrytrasna!🌱

A huge well done to the Eco Council for representing the school so brilliantly and speaking so confidently about such an important issue. Their passion for protecting Lough Neagh and raising awareness around blue-green algae is something to be really proud of.

It’s fantastic to see our pupils leading the way, showing such care for their environment and community. 👏💚
