🌟 We are beyond proud of our amazing Volunteer Director, Maram! 🌟

Her story is one of resilience, strength, and unwavering hope. From the heartbreak of war in Syria to building a new life in Northern Ireland, Maram has faced every challenge with courage and determination.

Despite the language barriers, cultural differences, and moments of isolation, she never gave up. Today, she stands tall as a graduate of BSc Architecture from Queen’s University Belfast – a powerful symbol of what perseverance can achieve.

Maram’s dream to rebuild and heal through architecture speaks volumes about the kind of leader she is – compassionate, visionary, and deeply committed to making the world a better place.

At NI Hyatt, we are honoured to have her as part of our team and family. She continues to inspire everyone around her and remind us that no matter where we come from, we all have the power to build something beautiful.

A Sweet Ending to a Wonderful Journey!

On Saturday, we celebrated the final day of our ESOL course in true NI Hyatt style — with laughter and learning

This special day was filled with joy, delicious food, and heartfelt moments as we marked the end of a fantastic learning journey. We were honoured to welcome the Chair of Mid Ulster Council, Councillor Eugene McConnell, whose presence meant so much to us and to our learners.

A huge THANK YOU goes to Khalid and his wonderful wife Huda, whose dedication and energy brought these classes — and this celebration — to life. Your hard work behind the scenes made it all happen.

We are also incredibly grateful to STEP for generously funding the entire ESOL course and this beautiful celebration. Your support continues to open doors for so many in our community.

To all our learners — well done! You’ve grown in confidence, built connections, and taken important steps forward.

Here’s to new beginnings, stronger voices, and a brighter future for all!

كان مهرجان NI Hyatt العربي 2025 حدثًا رائعًا شهد أجواء مليئة بالفرح والتعاون. من خلال هذا المهرجان، كانت الفرصة متاحة لنا للحديث عن ثقافتنا العربية ولغتنا العريقة، حيث قمنا بتسليط الضوء على تقاليدنا واحتفلنا بهويتنا بكل فخر. كان حديثنا حول اللغة العربية وثقافتها بمثابة جسر يربط بين الحضور، حيث كانت الرسائل واضحة وملهمة حول أهمية الحفاظ على تراثنا الثقافي. كما كانت الزينة التي غطت المكان تمثل لمسة مميزة جعلتنا نشعر وكأننا في بلادنا العربية، مما أضاف رونقًا خاصًا للمكان وعمّق الإحساس بالانتماء.

أما بالنسبة للأداء المميز من قبل طلابنا، فقد أظهروا مهارات رائعة في العروض التي قدموها، وكان ذلك مصدر فخر لجميع الحاضرين. كانت لحظات من الفخر والإنجاز، وبدون شك، تركت هذه العروض أثراً إيجابياً لدى الجميع.

لا يمكننا أن ننسى الشكر لكل من جعل هذا الحدث ممكنًا. أولاً، نتوجه بالشكر العميق للممولين: مجلس ABC وCRC على دعمهم الكريم. كما نوجه جزيل الشكر إلى المتطوعين والمساندين الذين كان لهم دور كبير في نجاح الحدث، وخصوصًا المتحدثين الخاصين مثل نائب العمدة كايل سافيدج وكارين من قسم التعليم الذين أبدوا استعدادهم التام لدعمنا.

أما عن الطعام، فقد كانت الأطعمة جزءًا أساسيًا من الحدث. تم تقديم كعكتين لذيذتين تم تقطيعهما إلى قطع صغيرة ليتناولها الجميع، حيث قام نائب العمدة كايل سافيدج بتقطيع أول شريحة من الكعكة، مما أضاف لمسة مميزة على بداية الحدث. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، قدمنا شاورما لذيذة تم تحضيرها بالطريقة التقليدية مع الخبز الطازج واللحوم الشهية. كانت الحلويات العربية مثل البقلاوة المحشوة بالكثير من الفستق تضفي لمسة حلاوة، بينما كانت القهوة العربية الشهيرة تقدم للجميع، ومعها الشوكولاتة الموجودة على الطاولة لمن أراد تناولها.

The NI Hyatt Arabic Festival 2025 was a wonderful event filled with joy and collaboration. Through this festival, we had the opportunity to discuss our rich Arabic culture and language, highlighting our traditions and celebrating our identity with pride. Our talk about the Arabic language and culture served as a bridge connecting the attendees, with clear and inspiring messages about the importance of preserving our cultural heritage. The decorations that filled the space added a special touch, making us feel as though we were in our own Arab countries, deepening the sense of belonging.

The remarkable performances by our students were another highlight, showcasing their incredible skills and leaving a lasting impression on everyone present. These moments of pride and achievement were undeniably impactful and brought a positive energy to the event.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this event possible. First, a big thank you to our funders, ABC Council and CRC, for their generous support. We are also immensely grateful to the volunteers and supporters who played a key role in the success of the event, especially our special speakers like Deputy Lord Mayor Kyle Savage and Karen from the Education Department, who have shown their full willingness to help us.

As for the food, it was an essential part of the event. Two delicious cakes were served, cut into pieces for everyone to enjoy, with Deputy Lord Mayor Kyle Savage cutting the first slice. Additionally, we served delicious Shawarma, prepared in the traditional way with fresh bread and tender meat. Arabic sweets like Baklava, filled with lots of pistachio, added a sweet touch, while the famous Arabic coffee was served, accompanied by chocolate placed on the table for those who wanted to enjoy some.

Big thanks to Ian and PSNI in ABC area who supported us during the whole event!
