Wowzers! What a day!
Firstly, a heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers - it was one of those hard shifts that tests our resolve - but we smashed it 💪!!
I do need a lie down somewhere quiet and dark now though 🤣
Today we served 69 visitors a hearty dish of chicken in a homemade tomato and pepper sauce, with either jacket potato or mash - this was followed by sponge pudding and hot custard.
Thank you Ann-marie Hamson from
Tesco, GoGro CIC, Branston Ltd, Moy Park/Pilgrim Foods and Noble Foods your ongoing support of the Kitchen in Lincoln is invaluable ❤️
Finally a quote from K - one of our friends - he said he always knows when he comes to see us, he will be welcomed with kindness and understanding - mixed with practical help and support. And we hugged 💕
Special final mention to the amazing Marla - thank you for all your hard work, closing your ears to our slightly sweary Chef, and your litter picking - you are an absolute 🌟 xx

Today at the Kitchen in Lincoln our amazing volunteers served 74 dinners to friends who came to see us at the Croft Street Community Centre between 1.30 and 2.30 today.
The fabulous menu, prepared by chef Austin Crump, was a choice of either chicken casserole served with jacket potato or chicken and cheese pasta bake - followed by sponge pudding and hot custard 💛
Hot, and particularly, cold drinks were very much appreciated, as was the warm welcome all our visitors receive when they come to see us ❤️
Many thanks for the donations of clothing this week - we had some mens shorts come in - which flew off the clothes rail!
Our volunteers picked up the regular donation of potatoes from Branston Ltd and chicken from Moy Park / Pilgrim Foods this week - and along with the eggs we receive from Noble Foods we are so grateful - as this kind of support means we can make monetary donations go so much further!
Thanks everyone for your follows, likes and practical donations and support - you help us achieve so much, week in, week out 💜

We welcomed 69 friends at the Kitchen in Lincoln today.
The menu today was chicken breast in a nutritiously tasty vegetable casserole gravy served with Branston Ltd jacket potatoes. The vegetables were a wonderful donation from the GoGro CIC Social group - thanks for thinking of us, and all involved 💚
Sponge puddings served with lashings of hot custard as pudding, and there was plenty of hot and cold drinks available to keep everyone hydrated.
We also had an amazing donation of buffet items thanks to Sally Eades and the team at Stokes.
We’ve had some cracking donations of clothing and bedding over the last few days - and our visitors were also hugely grateful for a couple of sleeping bags and essentials like clean socks, toiletries etc.
We are only able to deliver this service due to your help and support, which we are eternally grateful for ❤️
