Lee is currently going through his 2nd round of Chemotherapy for bowel cancer, and was desperately in need of a new washing machine, which we were only to happy to help with ...

Today we have had the pleasure to help one of our older local Veterans...
An Ex Grenadier Guard in his 80s , was very horribly bullied out of Β£50 , in his own home, by 2 nasty pieces of work ...
Following him into his house after he had watered his plants , they tried to force him into buying some stolen goods, fearing for his own safety he gave them Β£50 to get rid of them ...
We have been happy to replace that money for him 🫑

A massive thanks to Adam Barrett and Louth Building supplies. The Louth Veterans Charitable Fund has helped to support a local veteran in time of need, to help make there house an easier place to return to. One of our own is fighting the big C.
The staircase has been rebuilt, new handrails, new shower pump and new toilet cistern.
We support our ownπŸ‘ŠπŸΌ

Another good breakfast this morning and really good to see some more there for the first time , also great to meet Joe the President of the Louth Rotary Club and to thank him for the clubs very generous donation of Β£250 to the Louth Veterans Charitable Fund , and look forward to further collaboration moving forward

Next Committe member in the spotlight is our Chairman Martin Graves

Martin Joined the Army on the 25th Feb 1987 , Serving with the Royal Engineers. His first posting was at Old Park Barracks in Dover as a JLR with 82 sqn Innes troop. Here he spent a year completing his basic military training and Combat Engineering training.He then moved to Southwood Camp Farnbourgh, to complete AR training and further Combat Engineer training and getting his first introduction to the MGB (Medium Girder Bridge) building.
Following all his training he moved to Hameln in Germany and served with 29 field squadron in 35 Engineer Regiment. As his trade was POM. (Plant op Mechanic) he was introduced to various track related machinery.,and ended up as a CET op (Combat Engineer operator).
While at 29 field squadron he was part of a tour in Northern Ireland in 1989, based next to the Maze prison. Where he carried out search and construction tasks on the borders.
During 1990 he was attached to the RMPs in Hameln for 6 months. Red beret with Engineers cap badge was not popularβ€¦πŸ˜‘πŸ˜Ž
While in Hameln he did tours to the Berlin Wall, Randers in Denmark and various BAOR exercises.
He completed a second tour of Ireland in 1992 mainly in search and construction then decided to leave the military. He says it was a relatively short career in the military but gave him a great start in life and true mates that last forever.
and now sees himself as being UBIQUE (Everywhere). He is now a plant instructor on most things from a forklift to a crane and with his wife Rachel owns the Timber and Reclaim yard at Manby. They also have a tree surgery and wood fuels business, and rent out industrial units to start up businesses.He is Lincolnshire born and bread. Not originally from Louth but has been here 24 years and will never leave.
