Lewis, Rich and Naomi were in action at the Notts AC 5,000m on Friday evening, producing some fantastic performances on the track.

Lewis and Rich both ran brilliantly to dip under the 20-minute barrier, each setting impressive new overall PBs. πŸ”₯πŸ‘

Naomi also had a great run, securing a track PB and finishing as 3rd lady in a strong performance to round off a successful evening for the club. πŸ₯‰πŸ’ͺ

Congratulations to all three on some superb racing and well deserved PBs!

So tonight, it's a trio of stories.... Celebrating our fantastic members and their achievements (spoiler, it's not all about the medals πŸ˜‰)

First up...The Great North SwimRun πŸŒŠπŸƒ

A few words about the SwimRun adventure!

Katy, Ginny and Jenny Day took on the Great North SwimRun this weekend just gone. They were all excited, if a little nervous, about the unknown as none of them had ever done one before.

The course was split into three runs (totalling around 10km) and three swims (totalling approximately 2.5km). The first run, at 3.6 miles in a wetsuit, was definitely warm. πŸ₯΅ The first plunge into the water afterwards was... brisk! πŸ₯Ά Katy's watch showed 13 to 14Β°C, and her strategy was simply to swim as fast as possible so she could get out again as quickly as possible! 🀣

Once they'd settled into a rhythm it was absolutely fine, although swimming in a wetsuit while towing a pull buoy made them almost too buoyant and was trickier than you might think. Getting out of the cold water and onto the next run was always a welcome chance to warm up again before the next swim.

The final swim was particularly choppy and, at times, felt like they weren't making much progress, but they all made it safely to the finish.

Our fantastic trio decided beforehand that this wasn't about racing. Instead, they'd stick together, wait for each other throughout and enjoy the experience as a team. Looking back, that was definitely the right decision and made for a brilliant day out.

Well done to you all πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ’šπŸ’œ

πŸ† Junior Home International Champion 2026! πŸ†

Huge congratulations to Hugo (one of our junior members) on an outstanding performance at the Junior Home International Triathlon in Warwickshire last weekend.

While most people hear "triathlon" and think swim, bike, run, Hugo swapped the bike for an air pistol and produced a performance to remember! πŸŽ―πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Hugo was in superb form throughout the event, finishing as Junior Home International Triathlon Champion 2026.

The standout moment came on the run, where Hugo powered away from the field to claim the Best Run Award, leading from the front and opening up an incredible gap to his competitors. To make the day even sweeter, he also smashed his 1500m PB with a phenomenal 5:09. πŸ”₯

Hugo joined 4Life just six months ago to further develop his training and technique for competition. Since then, his commitment, determination and willingness to learn have been exceptional, and it's been fantastic to see that hard work rewarded on such a prestigious stage.

A huge thank you to our coaching team for their support, knowledge and encouragement. Results like this are always a team effort, and we're delighted to see Hugo's progress continue.

With triathlon success now under his belt, Hugo's focus turns back to Tetrathlon and the Area Qualifiers in July, where he'll add cross-country riding to the mix and be aiming for more success.

Congratulations, Hugo. Everyone at 4Life is incredibly proud of you, and we're sure Coach Matt will be delighted to hear all about your success! 🀩πŸ’ͺ

What a brilliant day at the Endorphinsport Aquathlon on Sunday! πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

With its reputation as one of the most supportive and inclusive multisport events around, this event certainly lived up to expectations. The facilities at Uppingham School Sports Centre were fantastic, and the atmosphere was incredible from start to finish.

Having the pool, transition area, event hub and much of the run course all centred together meant spectators could cheer competitors on every step of the way, creating a real buzz throughout the day. The children loved the experience, and it was wonderful to see so many young athletes challenging themselves, having fun, staying active and growing in confidence.

The highlight had to be the epic stadium-style finish, running through the heart of the action to a huge cheer from family, friends and supporters. A truly memorable experience for everyone involved!

A huge well done to all the competitors who took part. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves. πŸ’œπŸ’š
