We’ve just been looking back at some of the amazing entries in our scarecrow competition from the last two years 🤩

How many classes are you entering this year? Are you baking, making, or growing? 🌱🍰🎨

We know the scone category gets seriously competitive… 😉

All entries should be brought to the marquee on the common on the morning of the Fete, except stories for the Maureen Taylor Award, which need to be submitted a week earlier for judging.

📢 Junior B (ages 8–13) update:
The matchbox entry just needs to use a small matchbox. We originally included measurements, but suitable boxes are proving hard to find, so our judge will use their discretion.

One of the most loved parts of our Fete returns this year, and we can’t wait to see your four-legged stars strut their stuff on the Common on Saturday 4th July!

🎉 It’s time to reveal this year’s Scarecrow Competition theme… drumroll please… 🥁✨ DISNEY!! ✨

With SO many characters to choose from, who will be taking over your front garden? 👀 Will it be Mickey Mouse? Bluey? A legendary Star Wars character? Or a mighty Marvel hero? 🌟

Get those creative gears turning and start planning your masterpiece! All the details you need are on the poster! 👇

🏡 Not in the parish but still want to join the fun? Get in touch! We can’t ask our judges to travel too far and wide, but we’ll do our best to find a spot in the village where your scarecrow can be displayed so you can still be part of the magic! ✨

Thank you so much for all the lovely tombola prizes donated so far — we really appreciate your support! 💛

Just a little reminder that we’re looking for new or unused items only. To keep the prizes feeling special and all at a similar standard, we sadly can’t accept bric-a-brac.

Some ideas include:

🧼 Toiletries & smellies

🍫 Boxes of chocolates
🕯️ Candles

Basically, anything you’d be excited to win yourself! 🎉

Ready to show off your skills? It’s time to reveal this year’s Industrial Section categories! Whether you love to make, bake, or grow, there’s something for everyone—so why not get involved and enjoy a little friendly competition with friends and neighbours?

✨ How it works:
Bring your entries along on the morning of the Fete, where they’ll be judged and then proudly displayed for everyone to admire.

It’s all about having fun, getting involved, and maybe even discovering a hidden talent or two 😊

To help make our fete one to remember, we need your help! We’d be so grateful for your donations for our tombola - any unwanted gifts, leftover bottles of wine, boxes of chocolate - as long it is new/unused we would love to take it off your hands!
