🌍 Do you have a Windrush story to share?

Deaf Black Friendly Hub UK CIC would love to hear from people with Caribbean family connections whose parents or grandparents moved to Britain, and anyone with experience of Windrush history or community projects.

We are exploring a BSL-accessible Windrush project for 2027, bringing people together to share stories, learn about Caribbean contributions to Britain and celebrate this history.

We especially welcome Deaf Caribbean people, elders and descendants who would like to help shape the project. Local historians and community organisations are also welcome to get in touch.

We are preparing a funding application; funding is not yet confirmed.

🎉 DBFHUK Black History Month Celebration — 10 October 2026 🎉

What a wonderful celebration! Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday to celebrate Black history, Deaf culture and our community. ❤️

A special thank you to Kevin Buckle for his inspiring presentation — we were so impressed and grateful for the knowledge he shared.

Thank you to Grace for providing BSL interpreting and helping people communicate and connect with the Deaf Black community.

A big thank you to our team, volunteers, stallholders and supporters for helping make the day a success.

📢 DBFHUK Black History Month – Ticket Update

The £20 advance adult ticket offer closed on Saturday 3 October. Adult tickets are now £25, payable at the door or by transfer to the DBFHUK bank account.

If you transferred £20 after the deadline, please pay the remaining £5 by bank transfer or at the door.

Please contact us before making a bank transfer and send your payment confirmation so we can record your ticket.
