The Information, Advice and Support Services Network have produced this short statement which advises on the risks associated with using artificial intelligence tools in relation to the law and accessing legal guidance.

It is very important for children, young people and parents/carers to be aware that AI is not always accurate and SENDIASS Caseworkers are SEND specialist who are trained to give advice and support.

What is an Information, Advice and Support Service? 💡

Information, Advice and Support Services provide free, impartial and confidential information, advice and support to disabled children and young people, and those with SEN from birth to 25, and their parents. They are statutory services which means there has to be a service in every local authority.

Hello everyone! 👋 We’re new here, so we thought we’d introduce ourselves!

We are the Information, Advice and Support Services Network (IASSN).

Under the Children and Families Act 2014, it’s a legal requirement that all local authorities provide disabled children, young people, and those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) – along with their parents – access to free, impartial Information, Advice and Support (IAS) services.

The IASSN is funded by the Department for Education (DfE) to support this vital work.
You can learn more about who we are and what we do here: https://councilfordisabledchildren.org.uk/about-us-0/networks/information-advice-and-support-services-network

We’ll be sharing content about our work, celebrating and promoting IAS services, providing guidance, best practice tips, and much more!

If that sounds interesting, we’d love for you to follow us 😊
