17-year-old Stamford College graduate Kai is taking on a tandem skydive at Sibson Aerodrome on 29 August to raise vital funds for us.

Having recently completed an Air and Defence course, spent nearly five years in the Combined Cadet Force, and aiming to join the Royal Air Force next year as an Air Traffic and Weapons Controller, Kai’s connection to the RAF Family runs deep.

Inspired by their grandad’s 32 years of service and conversations with our welfare team at airshows, Kai wanted to give back.

Kai has already raised £350 in support of the RAF Family and they’ll be leaping into the air alongside their brother James, with full support from his family on the ground! 💙

Taking a break from the pressures of military life isn't just a getaway, it’s a chance to reconnect, strengthen bonds, and build resilience. 🌊🏖️

We’re proud to award a new grant to Give Us Time, a wonderful charity dedicated to helping RAF serving personnel, veterans, and their families take well-deserved time away together.

Through donated holidays and family experiences, RAF families like Mark and Laura’s recently enjoyed a trip to Scotland - exploring coastal caves, visiting lighthouses, and sharing quality time with their three children.

These moments offer space to recharge away from the unique demands of Service life. 💙

“It's not just the serving person who serves. The whole family serves." - John, RAF Benevolent Fund Ambassador.

When one steps forward, an entire network stands behind them. Alongside dedicated supporters like The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, we are able to stand by serving personnel, veterans, and their families in their hour of need.

Our new film is almost here. Join us as we celebrate our partnership with The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the people involved and the power of coming together.

“It reminds us that every generation has its struggles.”

The legacy of the 55,573 Bomber Command crew members is not just a part of history - it is a lesson for today.

We are honoured to partner with A Memory Owed - Short Film 2025, a short film that bridges the gap between those who served and those who remember.

As guardians of the Bomber Command Memorial, we strive to ensure that the noble sacrifice of the past continues to inspire and support our RAF Family today.

From Air Traffic Control at Prestwick to deployments in the South Pacific, Mary and John spent years serving the Royal Air Force Family.

Years later, when they needed help, we were there for them. ✈️

After struggling with COPD, mobility issues, and severe damp coming through their bedroom walls on a limited pension, Mary was signposted to us.

"Once they found out I’d served in the RAF, it just snowballed. It took away the stress of wondering how we could afford it... The fact I can phone the Fund’s Welfare Support Executives if anything happens, and they’ll pick up and be there for us. It's been so positive in every way." - Mary.

Whether it’s housing grants, mobility equipment, or just knowing someone is on the other end of the phone, no member of the RAF Family has to face challenges alone.

Now, Mary and John are back out in their local community, enjoying life and looking forward to attending the upcoming International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight at Low Green (South Ayrshire Council).

We are returning to Ayr as an official charity partner. Whether you need practical, financial, or emotional support, or simply want to learn how you can give back, our welfare team will be on-site all weekend to chat.
