Burdett FC is a football club based in Burdett Estate in Tower Hamlets, London. We have an U10’s, U12’s, U14’s, U16’s, Senior 7’s, Senior & Vets Team.

Saturday 16th May

Burdett U8 (1) - (3) Aberfeldy Falcons
A game with lots of quality from both teams with great spirit. The young keeper from Aberfeldy played fantastic making big saves. Great effort from the boys.

Burdett U13 (2) - (5) Frontline
3 back to back tough fixtures for our U13s playing up as we faced Frontline's A team. The game was extremely close for a long time, a huge testament to the bravery and effort from our U13 side. They made it 3-2 after a dubious call in their favour and then grabbed another 2 in the last 5 minutes to put it to bed as the game opened up. Positive from Yasin who scored a brace, and great performances from Mikaeel, Nihan & M Abu who gave it their all.

Burdett U15 (1) - (1) Victoria Park
Another draw for the U15s as they faced Victoria Park. An even game that saw chances for both teams on either side, an excellent end-to-end fixture. The U15s are now unbeaten in 4, showing strong form since the end of the winter league. Abid got the goal today after tapping home an effort from Ahmed that came off the crossbar.

Burdett FC 1-0 Frontline

Another game where everything seemed to go against us. The referee clearly the center of attention today (why always us!) and completely skewed the game in Frontline's favour. We played almost the entire game with a man down. Our player was sinbinned for wearing glasses and then when he returned, a soft challenge saw him get booked again and sent off. An agenda against him could not have been made clearer. Frontline kept getting closer and closer to get ahead, but Arshak kept denying them with save after save.

At half time we knew we needed to whatever we can to earn a point against a tough side. We battled for every loose ball, every duel, which saw Seth win a free kick with some brilliant play. Up steps Saqib and wins the game for us with a terrific finish. Playing with 6 vs 7 against a top side, we'll take that every day of the week.

One of the best goalkeeping performances you will ever see in Super 7. Colossal.

Saturday 9th May

Burdett U8 (2) - (2) Newark
A brand new team and age group for us as we took on Newark. A great game from both teams who played with great spirit.

Burdett U13 (W) - (L) Aberfeldy
A game we knew that would be tough as our players are playing a year up this season, but the boys showed great effort and desire throughout the game. A fantastic free kick from Ahmed got us back in it after conceding early. A strong second half response from Aberfeldy gave them the result in the end. However, we were awarded the 3 points due to them fielding an older player.

Burdett U15 (1) - (1) Westward
A tight game against Westward saw the points shared. Good effort from the boys who did well after a disastrous start. Ain scored another, a great equaliser. Chances were there to take all 3 points but it wasn't to be.

Burdett U17 (3) - (2) IBF Academy
To bring the day's action to a close, the U17s took on IBF Academy in a friendly. A good performance in general with a strong fightback in the second half. Goals came from Fernando, Olivier & Musa.

A professional performance and 3 points added to the tally. We started on the front foot with Mathiura making it extremely hard to break them down. A tricky run from Hamza found him taken out in the box, Adam struck a great penalty to give us the lead. Saqib came late because he lost his badminton rackets (??). But second half he came on and changed the game as usual, Anas got onto the end of Saqibs effort parried by the keeper to give us a 2 goal cushion.

Great performance from our U17 star who has been in fantastic form recently. Deserved a hattrick.

Saturday 2nd May

Burdett U13 (4) - (2) Frontline
A thrilling start to the season from the U13s in GW1 of the Tower Hamlets Youth League. Goals from Nihan, M Abu, Yasin & Yakub secured the victory against a fantastic side. With most our boys playing a year up this season, it's a great chance for them to develop and prepare for the winter.

Burdett U15 (5) - (0) Mile End Sporting
The U15 team kicked off their summer league season with a contest against familiar opponents Mile End. The boys started the game well and kept the intensity up for the full 60 minutes. Goals came from Abid x2, Ain x2 & Kaasem.

Burdett U17 (3) - (2) Leytonstone Youth
FINALISTS! In a tense and tight encounter the U17s deservedly won against Leytonstone. After topping the group stages, the boys knew their effort would be in vain without making the final.

We dominated the game and went 2-0 up through a pair of composed penalties by Junior, after a couple of handballs. The character of the boys was tested through a tough period where Leytonstone nabbed 2 goals back to even it out, through lapses of concentration. Captain Kevin showed his leadership and dug us out of a hole with a late winner, confirming our place in the Final.

We take on Impact on 6th June at Hackney Marshes Showcase Pitch. Come on the boys!

A game that did not disappoint! Both teams started on the front foot, with Hilfe taking an early lead through a quick goal. A brilliant solo goal from Saqib and another finish from Adam turned the game around, sending us ahead into the half.

Second half, we kept the pressure on and managed to grab a third. But with just over five minutes to go, Hilfe pulled one back to set up a nervy finish. With only minutes remaining, Adam stepped up and fired in a rocket directly from the corner spot to seal all 3 points.

It’s not often you see someone score straight from a corner in Super 7s. Top performance.

HM to the youngster Anas for a great all round performance. Two assists and unlucky to not get on the scoresheet.

GAMEWEEK 2 RESULT
Burdett FC 0-1 Redbridge

Nostalgia? Redbridge beat us to the title last season and extended their streak against us again in a narrow 1-0 win. First half belonged to Redbridge who were much better than us despite us getting a goal unfairly disallowed. A strong response in the second half was met by some big saves from their keeper. With full match time, maybe the result would be different.

Referee came late ✅️ Disallowed a perfectly good goal ✅️ 30 minute game ✅️ Key decisions going against us ✅️. Just wasn't to be.

Full credit to Redbridge, always box office. Onto the next one.

First game of the new season after promotion in the ILFL Super 7s saw us complete an emphatic victory against Royal Tigers. Hattricks from Adam and Abu, a brace from Junayd and a goal each from Saqib and Rejwan gave us a strong start to the season.
