Ladies,
You have stepped up and joined an amazing group of ordinary women.
Mothers. Grandmothers. Aunties. Daughters. Sisters. Granddaughters.
What has brought us all together? Why are we ditching the sink and turning PINK?
Like many of you, I was a happy mother and grandmother, working hard, supporting my family and simply getting on with life. Doing the things families do. Living.
But as we all know, many people today have concerns about safety and the future of their communities. It can feel as though dangers and challenges are growing around us. Communities seem less connected, people more isolated, and families increasingly divided.
Many of us were so busy working, paying bills, raising children and simply trying to keep our heads above water that we didn’t have time to stop and look at the bigger picture. Life became a constant race just to keep up.
So I took a step back.
I watched.
I listened.
I researched.
I joined groups, attended meetings and protests, and tried to understand what was happening.
But something was missing.
Where were the voices of women?
Women were there, but too often those voices were faint and overlooked. We realised that simply shouting louder was not encouraging more women to step forward. In many cases, it was actually pushing people away.
So we asked ourselves a simple question:
What if we did things differently?
What if we did things our way?
There is another reason why we choose a different approach.
Our behaviour today influences the next generation tomorrow.
Our children and grandchildren are watching us. They see how we speak to others, how we deal with disagreements and how we conduct ourselves in public.
When young people see aggression, hostility and confrontation, some begin to believe that is the normal way to be heard. We are already seeing teenagers turning up at events and protests, copying behaviour they have seen online and getting themselves into trouble.
That is not the future we want for them.
We want to raise a generation that is confident, respectful, informed and able to stand up for themselves without resorting to abuse, intimidation or violence.
That is why we lead by example.
We can be passionate without being aggressive.
We can be determined without being intimidating.
We can be strong without losing our dignity.
Real leadership isn’t about shouting the loudest. It is about setting the standard for those who follow behind us.
That is the Pink Ladies way.
Our chants are not offensive.
Our speeches are inclusive.
We engage with the public.
We share knowledge.
We build networks.
We support one another.
We hand out safety packs.
We promote awareness.
Because awareness and education are some of the most powerful tools we have.
Real change will not happen overnight. It requires strong leadership, community action, education and a willingness to challenge harmful attitudes wherever they exist.
That is why we are here.
Not to create division.
Not to spread hate.
But to stand together, support one another and make sure the concerns of ordinary women are heard.
Our online presence is important, but boots on the ground in our own communities will make the greatest difference.
Be visible.
Be active.
Talk to people.
Support local families.
Help those who feel isolated.
Share knowledge.
Stand together.
Because when women unite with purpose, determination and compassion, there is very little that cannot be achieved.
Stand tall.
Be seen.
Be heard.
Protect your families.
Support your communities.
And never back down from what you believe is right.
Thank you for stepping up 🙏
